Predators' Harry Zolnierczyk: Inks deal Tuesday
Zolnierczyk agreed to terms on a one-year contract with Nashville on Tuesday -- which immediately placed him on waivers, Pierre LeBrun of TSN reports.
Zolnierczyk returns to the Predators organization after attempting to land a gig with the Panthers on a professional tryout. The winger will almost certainly be reassigned to AHL Milwaukee -- assuming he clears -- and likely will spend much of the season in the minors given the glut of young talent within the Nashville system.

The Brown University product has been a journeyman over his six-year professional career, suiting up for five different organizations in that span. If another team is looking to add Zolnierczyk to its system, he won't provide much from an offensive standpoint, but he is a hardworking, responsible player with experience.

Zolnierczyk recorded an assist and two hits in 6:41 of ice time during Monday's Game 4 win over the Penguins.
It's tough to do much with such little ice time, but Zolnierczyk helped put Nashville's fourth line on the scoresheet. This was the 29-year-old's third appearance of the past two series, and even if he does draw into the lineup for Game 5, he's not likely to contribute much as a bottom-six winger who sees so little ice time.

Predators' Harry Zolnierczyk: Should see ice time in Game 3
Zolnierczyk is expected to make his Stanley Cup Finals debut on Saturday, Tom Gulitti of NHL.com reports.
Look for the 29-year-old to tag in for Vernon Fiddler as the fourth-line center. Zolnierczyk is an agitator who figures to make up for the projected absence of Cody McLeod, who is expected to join Fiddler as a healthy scratch for Nashville's first home game of the Cup finals.

Good luck pronouncing his name, but at least the depth winger makes it easy to see that he's a terrific skater with a physical element to his game. He ended up with 14:32 of ice time in this latest contest, which was much more than usual since the Predators were in full control. Every bit of production is huge for Zolnierczyk since he has been with five different clubs since starting out with the Flyers in 2011-12 -- we're thinking a permanent abode would serve him well.

Zolnierczyk (undisclosed) is no longer listed on injured reserve, according to the NHL media site.
Zolnierczyk's first eligible date for activation arrives Sunday and his activation from injured reserve suggests he will be ready to return when first eligible. Even if he rejoins the lineup as expected, it will likely go unnoticed in the vast majority of fantasy leagues given his 8:33 average time on ice. He has tallied three points in 15 contests with the Predators this season, but that's hardly enough to push him onto the radar. There's also no guarantee Zolnierczyk will be in the lineup when healthy given his borderline status.

Zolnierczyk was placed on injured reserve Monday, Adam Vingan of The Tennessean reports.
Zolnierczyk participated in practice Monday and played in Saturday's game against the Red Wings, so his placement on injured reserve comes as a bit of a surprise. Given that he averages just 8:33 of ice time, the borderline NHL winger's disappearance from the lineup shouldn't have a large impact in fantasy leagues. His status should be updated again when he's ready to return to action. Colton Sissons appears to be the top candidate to take his place among the forwards unless the team elects to recall another from its AHL affiliate.

Zolnierczyk recorded his first point of the season with an assist during Saturday's 3-2 win over the Avalanche.
Zolnierczyk has now skated in six consecutive games since being recalled from AHL Milwaukee earlier in January. However, he's only averaging roughly 10 minutes in ice time on the Preds' fourth line, so he offers very little by way of fantasy value right now.

His lone 2016-17 appearance came Oct. 22 against the Penguins, when he tallied two PIM, one hit and one blocked shot in 7:50 of ice time.

Zolnierczyk appeared in one game for the Predators this season, seeing the ice for just 7:50 minutes. The 29-year-old left-winger has played in only four NHL games since the 2014-15 season and with his demotion to hockey minors, that trend will likely continue during the current campaign.

Zolnierczyk was waived by Nashville on Friday along with Adam Payerl, Petter Granberg, and Matt Irwin, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.
Zolnierczyk was called up for one game by the Ducks last year before signing with the Predators in the offseason. In total, the 29-year-old has appeared in 60 NHL contests, tallying a combined five goals, four assists, and 83 PIM in those outings. Unless claimed off the waiver wire, Zolnierczyk, Payerl, Granberg, and Irwin will be assigned to AHL Milwaukee where they are likely to spend the bulk of the 2016-17 campaign.
