The veteran defenseman played 161 games through his first two seasons with Philadelphia, so his lack of playing time is a little surprising. Schultz is on the final year of a $2.25 million contract, so there is a chance he's dealt leading into the trade deadline. However, it's unlikely he's utilized as anything more than a depth defenseman with another team, either. Schultz is fully off the fantasy radar at this point.

Schultz (knee) is skating Sunday, Tim Panaccio of CSN Philly reports.
Schultz suffered a sprained knee at the end of September and was originally given a 4-to-7 day timeline for a return. It's been four days since that projection was given, so it comes as no surprise Schultz is back on the ice Sunday. It appears he's over the knee injury and as long as he doesn't suffer any setbacks over the next few days, it's safe to assume he'll be healthy for the start of the regular season.

The Flyers announced Wednesday that Schultz had suffered a lower-body injury, and was expected to miss 4-to-7 days. Schultz has never been a prolific points producer on defense, and he's on pace for just 10 points this season. Strangely, he's fared better on the road this season, collecting his four of his five helpers when he's team travels. He faces his former team, the Wild, Thursday in Minnesota, so if you're in desperate need of a long shot on defense, he could warrant a start.

Schultz exited Saturday's game against the Rangers in the first period with an upper-body injury, and ultimately was unable to return to the contest. He returned to practice Monday, but didn't feel well enough to suit up for Tuesday's matchup with Ottawa. The 33-year-old blueliner practiced again Thursday, and is now healthy enough to draw back into Philadelphia's lineup for Friday's tilt against the Devils. Schultz, who has tallied a single assist in 24 games this season, is expected to skate alongside Yevgeni Medvedev on the Flyers' second pairing in Friday's game.
