  • Matej Stransky: Heading to KHL

Stransky agreed to terms on a two-year deal with HC Severstal of the KHL on Monday.

Stransky failed to make his debut with Dallas despite spending four seasons with AHL Texas. The 23-year-old is coming off his best minor-league campaign in which he registered 47 points in 76 outings -- including career highs in both goals and assists. Perhaps a couple years in the KHL will jump-start the winger's career enough that he can finally log his first NHL outing.

  • Stars' Matej Stransky: Waived by team

Stransky was placed on waivers by the Stars on Thursday.

If unclaimed, Stransky will return to AHL Texas, where he's spent the last three seasons. Last year, the winger put up his best season in the minors, notching 23 goals and 16 helpers. The 23-year-old was like a long shot to make the Opening Day roster and may have to wait another year before making his NHL debut.

  • Stars' Matej Stransky: Gets one-year extension

Stransky received a one-year contract extension from the Stars on Saturday, reports General Fanager.

The 2011 sixth-round draft pick has spent the last three seasons playing for AHL Texas and has yet to make his NHL debut. Last season he scored 23 goals and 39 points in 74 games in the AHL. With the NHL club's forward depth, it's unlikely that he'll be a factor in fantasy next season.
