  • Justin Auger: Let go by Kings

Auger was not extended a qualifying offer from the Kings on Monday, Curtis Zupke of the Los Angeles Times reports. As a result, he'll become an unrestricted free agent July 1.

Auger made his NHL debut with the Kings this past season, but the winger only managed 11 goals and 14 assists against a minus-13 rating for AHL Ontario that same year. Despite being 6-foot-6, 232 pounds, he's not as big a masher as Los Angeles had hoped, so he'll try to latch on with another team this summer.

  • Kings' Justin Auger: Bumped down to minors

Auger was demoted to AHL Ontario on Thursday.

The hulking forward listed at 6-foot-7, 229 pounds, trades places with Michael Amadio on the organizational depth chart. LA needed more healthy bodies at the center position with Jeff Carter (ankle) out long term and rookie Gabriel Vilardi (back) ailing as well.

  • Kings' Justin Auger: Recalled to Kings

Auger was recalled from AHL Ontario on Tuesday, Jon Rosen of Fox Sports West reports.

With Kyle Clifford (upper body) recently hitting the injured reserve list, Auger has been called in to replace him. The 23-year-old has yet to play in an NHL game and isn't likely to sniff the top six during this stint with the big club, so don't worry about him for fantasy purposes at the moment.

  • Justin Auger: Waived by Kings

Auger was waived by the Kings on Sunday, Pierre LeBrun of TSN reports.

Auger signed a two-way deal with the Kings back in mid-July, so if he does go unclaimed on waivers, he'll likely end up with their AHL affiliate to start the season.

  • Kings' Justin Auger: Inks one-year deal with LA

Auger signed a one-year, two-way deal with the Kings on Friday.

This is nothing more than an organizational depth signing for LA, as Auger has spent the entirety of the last three seasons in the AHL, totaling 43 goals and 42 assists in 199 games over that span. The 6-foot-7 winger will likely once again spend the entire 2017-18 campaign in the minors.
