Nick Shore: Released from PTO
Carolina ended its professional tryout agreement with Shore on Friday.
Shore had three goals and six points in 63 contests between Toronto and Winnipeg in 2019-20. Since that campaign, the 31-year-old has played in overseas. He recorded seven points in 18 Swiss League games with Ambri-Piotta as well as 18 points in 25 appearances with HV71 of the SHL last season.

Hurricanes' Nick Shore: Agrees to PTO
Shore signed a professional tryout agreement with Carolina on Tuesday.
Shore hasn't played in the NHL since 2019-20, when he recorded three goals, six points and 55 hits in 63 games between Toronto and Winnipeg. He has spent the past three years playing overseas, including stops in Switzerland and Sweden last season. Shore will compete for a depth spot with the Hurricanes during training camp.

Shore's helper on a Logan Shaw tally snapped his personal 27-game point drought. The 27-year-old Shore now has six points, 54 hits, 40 shots and a minus-1 rating in 59 contests between the Jets and the Maple Leafs this year. With a limited fourth-line role, Shore isn't likely to interest fantasy owners.

Shore has logged a mere 8:47 of ice time per game during his pointless streak, so his opportunities have been limited. The center hasn't put a shot on goal in his last six outings and managed a mere two hits, so fantasy owners shouldn't be banking on him providing much in terms of value the rest of the way.

Shore remains stuck on five points, having failed to produce a point for the sixth straight game. He boasts an impressive shooting percentage (14.3) but hasn't played enough minutes to make an impact, averaging roughly nine minutes per contest in 2019-20.

Shore was claimed off the waiver wire by Winnipeg from Toronto on Wednesday.
Shore served as a healthy scratch in four of the Maple Leafs' previous five outings, though he scored a goal in his lone appearance. It seems the veteran center wasn't going to be in new coach Sheldon Keefe's future plans and will now play for his fourth Canadian team in his five-year NHL career. With the Jets, the Denver native should be in the mix for consistent minutes and could bump David Gustafsson from the lineup ahead of Thursday's clash with Dallas.

Maple Leafs' Nick Shore: Lands on waivers
The Maple Leafs waived Shore for the purpose of assignment to AHL Toronto on Tuesday, Sarah McLellan of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Shore has played 21 games this year, recording three points and 17 hits. HIs departure hints that Mitch Marner (ankle) could be near a return. If Shore's scooped off waivers, he'll land with his fifth team in three seasons.

It looks like coach Mike Babcock will be rotating Shore and Jason Spezza on the fourth line, and both will get limited ice time. Shore will likely help in PK situations, but won't be valuable in the fantasy arena.

Maple Leafs' Nick Shore: Returning to NHL
Shore secured a one-year, $750,000 deal with Toronto on Monday, James Mirtle of The Athletic reports.
Shore spent the 2018-19 campaign in the KHL with Magnitogorsk, in which he tallied three goals, 13 helpers and 21 PIM in 37 appearances. While the 26-year-old should be able to land a spot on the 23-man roster, minutes may be hard to come by outside of the penalty kill, which gives him mid-range fantasy value, at best.

Nick Shore: Inks deal with KHL club
Shore signed a contract with Metallurg Magnitogorsk of the KHL on Friday, TSN reports.
Shore played for three NHL teams last season -- Los Angeles, Ottawa and Calgary -- totaling five goals and 19 points over 64 games. He was not tendered a qualifying offer with the Flames, so he hit the open market in June. Shore is only 26 years old, so there's still plenty of time for him to revive his career overseas and potentially return to the NHL someday.

Shore had a pretty hectic 2017-18 campaign, registering five goals and 19 points in 64 games with three different NHL clubs. The 25-year-old is a solid bottom-six center and should fill that role once again regardless of what team signs him this offseason.

Shore played 64 regular season games -- 49 with Los Angeles, six with Ottawa and nine with Calgary -- totaling five goals and 19 points.
Shore wasn't very effective anywhere, but suiting up for three different NHL teams in one season can get hectic. Still, the 19 points were a career best for the Colorado native. Assuming the 25-year-old can settle into a spot with Calgary, he could start producing at a decent clip for a bottom-six winger.

Flames' Nick Shore: Struggles in faceoff circle upon return
Shore skated for 12:40 in his return from an illness Tuesday night in a 1-0 home win over the Oilers.
Shore didn't mark the scoresheet and lost four faceoffs on six attempts, but perhaps he was just a bit rusty after missing the previous four games. Either way, fantasy owners shouldn't be focusing too heavily on a bottom-six role player who has been associated with three different NHL teams this season alone -- Shore was also with the Kings and Senators before Ottawa traded him to the Flames for a 2019 seventh-round pick in late February.

Shore has missed the last two games due to travel issues and this illness, but he's ready to make his Flames debut. The 25-year-old forward had four goals and 15 points with the Kings and one assist with the Senators earlier this season. Shore's return to the ice for the Flames has been delayed by both travel issues and an illness, placing him in a position to miss his third straight game since the Flames acquired him prior to the trade deadline Monday. He's posted an underwhelming 16 points (four goals, 12 assists) over 55 games between the Kings and Senators so far in 2017-18, but the Flames hope a change of scenery will spark a fire under the 25-year-old winger. If he misses the contest as expected, Shore stands a good chance of debuting for the Flames on Monday against the Penguins.

Shore is under the weather and is considered doubtful against the Avalanche on Wednesday, Derek Wills of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports.
It appears Shore's debut with the Flames will have to wait. The natural center needs just one point to match his career high of 17 from the 2016-17 campaign. Once healthy, the winger will likely knock Curtis Lazar or Troy Brouwer out of the lineup, but could also find himself serving as a healthy scratch periodically.
