Petter Granberg: Heading overseas
Granberg signed a three-year deal with Skelleftea AIK of the SHL on Friday.
Granberg failed to gain much traction during his four years in the NHL, which were split between the Maple Leafs and Predators, tallying two assists in 45 contests, so he'll head back to his native Sweden to continue his professional hockey career.

Predators' Petter Granberg: Reassigned to AHL
Granberg (undisclosed) was activated from injured reserve and subsequently reassigned to AHL Milwaukee on Tuesday.
The defenseman has played sparingly for the Preds this season, failing to record a point in 10 contests. At 24 years old, it's unlikely that Granberg will grow into anything more than a depth defenseman in the NHL.

Predators' Petter Granberg: Placed on injured reserve
Granberg was designated for injured reserve Tuesday with an undisclosed injury.
Granberg played a season-high 15:22 in Saturday's contest against Colorado, so whatever's bothering him must have flared up after the game. With the 24-year-old out of the lineup, the team opted to claim Brad Hunt off waivers from St. Louis. The Preds are suddenly very thin on the blue line, considering both Roman Josi (undisclosed) and P.K. Subban (upper body) are also on IR. Even once healthy, Granberg is not a lock to suit up on a regular basis; he could be sent down to the minors once cleared to return.

Predators' Petter Granberg: Summoned to parent club
Granberg was recalled from AHL Milwaukee on Saturday.
Puck-moving rearguard Roman Josi was recently placed on IR with an undisclosed injury -- he'll join P.K. Subban (upper body) on that list -- so the Predators are fortunate to have retained Granberg after waiving him last weekend. He'll be on hand for Saturday's road game against the Avalanche, but there's no guarantee that he starts. The blueliner hasn't recorded a point in 27 games split between the Predators and AHL affiliate Milwaukee this campaign.

Predators' Petter Granberg: Placed on waivers Sunday
Granberg was placed on waivers by Nashville on Sunday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.
The blueliner has played in nine games in the NHL this year, and hasn't registered a point in any of them. Because of the lack of scoring, it seems unlikely that any team would want to claim him at this time. If he clears waivers, he'll head to AHL Milwaukee.

Predators' Petter Granberg: Serves as healthy scratch Friday versus Panthers
Granberg served as a healthy scratch for the second straight game Friday against the Panthers.
Granberg has played in only nine games this season, averaging roughly nine minutes of ice time per game. Simply put, there are far too many other bodies ahead of him on the Preds' depth chart for him to warrant any real fantasy consideration.

Predators' Petter Granberg: Recalled from AHL Milwaukee
Granberg was recalled from AHL Milwaukee on Saturday, Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official website reports.
With the Predators placing defenseman Ryan Ellis (upper body) on IR on Saturday, the team brought up Granberg and Michael Liambas to help restore some depth at the back end. Since the Predators already have six healthy defensemen prior to Ellis' injury, it's not expected that Granberg will become a regular fixture in the team's lineup.

Predators' Petter Granberg: Sent back to AHL Milwaukee
Granberg along with Pontus Aberg, Felix Girard, Frederick Gaudreau and Mike Liambas were assigned to AHL Milwaukee on Sunday.
Granberg stood an outside shot at making the roster but did re-up with the Predators in the offseason on a two-year, two-way contract. He likely remains one of the team's top options for recall should extra depth be required along the blue line.

Predators' Petter Granberg: Inks two-way deal with Nashville
Granberg signed a two-year, two-way contract with the Predators on Tuesday, Tim Wharnsby of CBC Sports reports.
Granberg appeares in 27 games with the Predators last season, tallying just two assists while averaging 13:43 of ice time over that span. The 23-year-old blueliner will hope to secure a bottom-pairing role with the Predators in September's training camp, but may begin the season as the team's seventh defenseman behind Yannick Weber and Anthony Bitetto.

Predators' Petter Granberg: Posts assist Saturday in win over Blues
Granberg recorded his second point of the season Saturday with an assist in the Predators' 5-0 win over the Blues.
As the Preds' seventh defenseman, Granberg has been a healthy scratch for much of this season. However, with Shea Weber currently day-to-day with a lower-body injury, Granberg is now seeing time on the second defensive pairing alongside Mattias Ekholm. He makes for a decent spot start in deeper formats right now.

Predators' Petter Granberg: Notches first point of season Thursday vs. Jets
Granberg recorded his first point of the season in Thursday's 4-1 win against the Jets.
Granberg, playing in just his second game of the season after being claimed off waivers from the Maple Leafs in November, assisted on Craig Smith's second-period goal that ultimately became the game-winner. Nashville has one of the deeper blue lines in the league, so don't expect much out of Granberg from a fantasy perspective this season.

Predators' Petter Granberg: Goes on conditioning stint
Granberg (Achilles) was sent to AHL Milwaukee on a conditioning stint, Jame Mirtle of The Globe and Mail reports.
Granberg hasn't seen any action this season, resulting in a need for him to go on a conditioning stint before he's able to rejoin the Predators. The blueliner spent most of 2014-15 with AHL Toronto, but saw action in seven games with the Maple Leafs as well. The 23-year-old could be in line to split time between the two clubs once again this season once healthy.

Predators' Petter Granberg: Claimed off waivers by Nashville
Granberg was claimed off waivers by the Predators on Sunday, Bob McKenzie of TSN reports.
Granberg is coming close to returning from an Achilles injury and could soon be used by Nashville as depth. He shouldn't see too much action at just 23 years old, but he at least has room to grow with his new team.

Granberg (Achilles) has been placed on waivers, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
Granberg reportedly is nearing a return from his Achilles injury, but the stay-at-home defenseman was waived in order to be sent down to the AHL. However, he must clear waivers in order for the parent-club Leafs to retain his services within the organization.

Leafs' Granberg Undergoes Surgery
Granberg underwent surgery for a torn achilles on Friday.Granberg suffered the injury while training in Sweden, and will be out a minimum of four months as a result. That means he'll likely miss at least a portion of Toronto's training camp, which begins in September. That's unfortunate for Granberg, as he'll now likely miss an opportunity to compete for a roster spot with the Leafs in camp.... See More ... See Less -
