  • Kraken's Haydn Fleury: Can't grab full-time gig

Fleury made just 36 appearances with the Kraken this season.

Fleury showed promise with a two-goal game back on Oct. 28 versus the Wild, but those were his only tallies of the season. He added two assists, 52 shots on net, 60 hits and 62 blocked shots while struggling to establish himself in the lineup even after the Kraken had a fire sale at the trade deadline. The 25-year-old is set for restricted free agency this summer, though his place in the lineup could be further threatened if the Kraken make a splash for a blueliner in the open market after a brutally poor defensive season that saw them yield 3.46 goals per game.

  • Kraken's Haydn Fleury: Ready to rock

Fleury (upper body) will return to the lineup Saturday against the Devils, Alison Lukan of The Athletic reports.

Fleury is expected to return to a top-four role following his nine-game absence. He's notched four points through 34 contests this campaign.

  • Kraken's Haydn Fleury: Practices in non-contact jersey

Fleury (upper body) practiced in a non-contact jersey Monday, but he is unlikely to play Tuesday versus the Flames, Scott Malone of Root Sports reports.

This is Fleury's first practice since he was hurt March 26. The defenseman is apparently nearing a return to the lineup, but he'll miss at least one more game.

  • Kraken's Haydn Fleury: Still sidelined

Fleury (upper body) will not play Saturday versus the Flames, Ryan S. Clark of The Athletic reports.

Fleury is set to miss an eighth consecutive game, so it's safe to assume he's out indefinitely until further notice.

  • Kraken's Haydn Fleury: Not playing Wednesday

Fleury (upper body) remains out of the lineup Wednesday versus the Blues, per the NHL media site.

It's unclear if Fleury traveled with the Kraken for their two-game road trip, so it seems unlikely he'll play Thursday versus the Blackhawks as well. The defenseman will miss his sixth straight game Wednesday, and there's been little information regarding his status.

  • Kraken's Haydn Fleury: Not playing Friday

Fleury (upper body) will not play Friday against Vegas, Ryan S. Clark of The Athletic reports.

Fleury will miss his fourth straight game Friday and there's been little information on the severity of his injury. Seattle's next game is Sunday against the Stars.

  • Kraken's Haydn Fleury: Not expected to play Wednesday

Fleury (upper body) did not participate in the morning skate and is unlikely to play Wednesday versus the Golden Knights, Mike Benton of 93.3 KJR reports.

Fleury is set to miss his third straight game with the injury. The 25-year-old's continued absence means Derrick Pouliot will continue to play in a third-pairing role. Fleury's next chance to play is Friday's game, also against the Golden Knights.

  • Kraken's Haydn Fleury: Out Monday

Fleury (upper body) will not play Monday against the Kings, per the NHL's media site.

Fleury will miss a second straight game with his upper-body issue. The 25-year-old has regularly been a healthy scratch this season so it's unclear when the team expects him to return to the lineup. He has four points through 34 games this season.

  • Kraken's Haydn Fleury: Suffers upper-body injury

Fleury won't be available against the Kings on Saturday after suffering an upper-body injury, Geoff Baker of the Seattle Times reports.

Fleury has periodically served as a healthy scratch throughout the season, so his absence is unlikely to impact the majority of fantasy players. Even when he has played, the 25-year-old blueliner has tallied just four points in 34 contests, so he shouldn't be expected to offer more than low-end fantasy value once cleared to return.

  • Kraken's Haydn Fleury: Sets up game-winner

Fleury logged an assist, five shots on goal and a pair of hits in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Red Wings.

Fleury fed Yanni Gourde for the game-winning goal at 13:03 of the third period. This was Fleury's third appearance in the last four games -- with Mark Giordano likely to be traded by Monday's deadline, the 25-year-old defenseman is in line to pick up the slack from the captain's departure. Fleury hasn't done much this season with four points, 48 shots on net, 57 hits, 57 blocked shots and an even plus-minus rating in 33 outings, and he's been a healthy scratch more often than not in the last month. He'll likely compete with Will Borgen and Jeremy Lauzon for one spot in the lineup, assuming the Kraken don't acquire any defensemen in deadline deals.

  • Kraken's Haydn Fleury: Slips back into part-time role

Fleury has played in just two of the Kraken's last six games.

Fleury saw regular playing time when the Kraken were missing defensemen, but now that the position is fully healthy, he's returned to part-time duty. He still hasn't picked up a point in 13 games since the calendar flipped to 2022, and he's added just 22 shots on net, 32 blocked shots and 21 hits in that span. The 25-year-old could become a lineup regular if Mark Giordano is traded before the March 21 deadline, but Fleury's picked up just three points in 30 contests and likely won't have much fantasy appeal.

  • Kraken's Haydn Fleury: Seeing more playing time

Fleury has appeared in the Kraken's last three games.

Fleury hasn't notched a point in that stretch, but it's an improvement over the six-game stretch he spent as a healthy scratch earlier in January. The 25-year-old has three points, 27 shots on net, 38 hits, 34 blocked shots and a minus-2 rating through 21 outings overall. He'll eventually have to contend with the returns of Jamie Oleksiak and Carson Soucy from their respective lower-body injuries, which could send Fleury back to the press box on a regular basis.

  • Kraken's Haydn Fleury: Slides helper in loss

Fleury logged an assist and two hits in Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Oilers.

Fleury had been held without a point in his last 11 outings since a two-goal game versus the Wild on Oct. 28. The 25-year-old has been limited to a part-time role this year. He has three points, 20 shots on net, 33 hits, 23 blocked shots and a minus-2 rating in 17 appearances. Fleury should be a more consistent presence in the lineup while Jamie Oleksiak (COVID-19 protocols) is out.

  • Kraken's Haydn Fleury: Covering for Giordano

Fleury has been in the lineup for the Kraken's last three games with Mark Giordano (COVID-19 protocols) out.

Fleury has struggled to maintain an everyday role in the lineup, playing in 12 of the Kraken's 22 games overall. He's picked up two goals, which both came against the Wild on Oct. 28. The 25-year-old blueliner has added 19 shots on net, 28 hits, 20 blocked shots and four PIM this year. Once Giordano returns, Fleury will likely resume a fairly even split of playing time with Carson Soucy.

  • Kraken's Haydn Fleury: Not playing Monday

Fleury is not in Monday's lineup against Edmonton, Marisa Ingemi of The Seattle Times reports.

Unless he's dealing with an unannounced injury, it appears that Fleury is a healthy scratch Monday. The 25-year-old will miss his fourth game and has just two points in six appearances this season. Carson Soucy will take his place in the lineup.

  • Kraken's Haydn Fleury: Two goals in stat-stuffing outing

Fleury scored two goals while adding six shots, two blocked shots, two PIM and three hits in Thursday's 4-1 win over the Wild.

Fleury was the only man who could solve Wild netminder Cam Talbot, tying the game in the first period and potting the eventual game-winner in the second before the Kraken piled on two empty-netters in the third. Despite skating by far the fewest minutes among Seattle's six blueliners (14:11), Fleury still found time to round out his stat line, delivering an excellent performance across the board. These are the types of performances the Hurricanes envisioned when they selected Fleury seventh overall in the 2014 draft, but the 25-year-old defenseman has perennially underperformed since then, and it's not an exaggeration to say this was the best game of his NHL career -- he came in having scored just seven goals in 183 previous appearances split between the Hurricanes, Ducks and Kraken.

  • Kraken's Haydn Fleury: Dropped to minors

Fleury was reassigned to AHL Charlotte on Sunday, per CBS Sports.

Fleury appeared to be the odd man out on Seattle's blue line and is now preparing to start the year in the minors. He scored four points and laid down 63 hits in 47 games with Carolina and Anaheim last season. He'll likely see some time on the NHL roster at some point this season.

  • Kraken's Haydn Fleury: On ice for Thursday's practice

Fleury (illness) skated at the Kraken's practice Thursday, Ryan S. Clark of The Athletic reports.

Fleury was sidelined by an illness in the Ducks' season finale last year, but he's good to go to start training camp with the Kraken. The 25-year-old defenseman notched just four points in 47 contests last year, although he added 63 hits and 55 blocked shots. He'll have to have an impressive training camp to earn a spot on the Opening Night roster -- it's more likely he'll begin the year with AHL Charlotte.

  • Kraken's Haydn Fleury: Taken in Expansion Draft

Fleury (illness) was selected by Seattle from Anaheim in Wednesday's NHL Expansion Draft.

After being acquired by the Ducks at the trade deadline last year, Fleury saw a significant uptick in ice time (20:39 per game) and registered two goals and one helper in 12 contests. Unfortunately for the 25-year-old blueliner, he figures to be hard-pressed to secure a spot in the lineup with Seattle given the team's defensive depth. The silver lining for Fleury could be the opportunity to play with brother Cale Fleury, who was also taken by the Kraken.
