Oilers' Brian Ferlin: Waived by Oilers
Ferlin (undisclosed) was waived by the Oilers on Tuesday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.
Ferlin signed a one-year deal with Edmonton this offseason, but has yet to play a game for the team. He spent the previous two seasons in the AHL with the Providence Bruins, and the AHL seems to be where he is headed again.

Oilers' Brian Ferlin: Commands one-year deal from Edmonton
Ferlin was granted a one-year contract by the Oilers on Saturday.
A Cornell product, Ferlin had been associated with Boston the last three seasons. The Bruins selected him with a fourth-round (121st overall) pick in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, but he's only made seven NHL appearances to date and none since the 2014-15 campaign.

Bruins' Brian Ferlin: Renews contract with B's
Ferlin re-signed with the Bruins for one year Thursday, TSN reports.
Ferlin played for Cornell University from 2011-14 and has since split time between the Bruins and AHL Providence. Last season, the power forward put up 14 points in 23 games with the Baby Bruins. Since the 24-year-old reportedly was given a one-year, two-way extension, it's likely that he will continue shuffling around the league ranks, with a call-up unlikely to result except in case of injuries on the parent club.

Bruins' Brian Ferlin: Missed practice Wednesday
Ferlin (upper body) is not skating in practice on Wednesday and is not expected to play in this weekend's games for AHL Providence, Mark Divver of the Providence Journal reports.
The Cornell product split his time between the NHL and AHL last season, scoring 20 points for AHL Providence and tallying one assist in seven games for the Bruins. He played in one game for AHL Providence before suffering this injury. Ferlin could be a contributor within the next year or two for the rebuilding Bruins.

The Bruins have assigned Ferlin to AHL Providence, the Boston Globe reports.Ferlin, who had been a contender for a fourth-line role with the B's, will remain on the team's short list of forwards to summon once injuries hit the big club. In 53 games game with Providence last season, Ferlin notched 11 goals and 20 points, not eye-popping numbers, but the 23-year-old does possess a solid enough blend of size and skill to work into a bottom-six role at the NHL level at some point in time....
