Flames' Alex Gallant: Secures PTO
Gallant will join the Flames for training camp on a professional tryout agreement, per CapFriendly.
Gallant played in 18 games for AHL Stockton last year in which he managed a mere two points. Undrafted coming out of juniors, the 28-year-old winger has yet to break into the NHL and figures to, at best, secure a two-way deal from Calgary if he impresses during training camp.

Alex Gallant: Headed for free agency
Gallant, contrary to earlier reports, didn't receive a qualifying offer from the Golden Knights, per Jesse Granger of The Athletic.
Gallant managed just two points in 47 appearances with AHL Chicago this season and hasn't been able to crack an NHL roster. At this point, the 26-year-old may need to move overseas if he wants to continue his professional career.

Golden Knights' Alex Gallant: Qualified by Knights
Gallant was extended a qualifying offer from Vegas on Tuesday, Jesse Granger of The Athletic reports.
At 26 years old, Gallant has yet to play an NHL game and has struggled to make a consistent impact at the AHL level. While being granted a qualifying offer is encouraging, the likelihood of Gallant playing in the NHL next season is low at best, so steer clear of him in all fantasy formats.

Gallant is an enforcer type, but Vegas already has one of those in Ryan Reaves. Perhaps the former will clear waivers and play for AHL Chicago.

Gallant secured a contract with the Golden Knights on Sunday.
Specific contract details are pending. Gallant loves to drop the gloves, as evidenced by the tough customer accruing 442 PIM over 94 career contests in the AHL. The Prince Edward Island native should get along well with Ryan Reaves; he's an enforcer in his own right and just signed a two-year extension with the Golden Knights.
