Flames' Connor Zary: Snaps slump with goal
Zary scored a goal in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Canucks.
Zary was on an 11-game slump prior to Sunday. He followed up on a second-chance play to score the Flames' go-ahead goal at 8:08 of the first period, just 35 seconds after Morgan Frost had tied the game. Zary was on the third line with Blake Coleman and Mikael Backlund in this contest, which is typically a good spot for a slumping forward to land. Zary has three points, 29 shots on net, 15 hits and a minus-2 rating through 22 appearances. He'll need to find a lot more consistency to be an option in fantasy.

Flames' Connor Zary: Ice-cold on offense
Zary's point drought reached 11 games in Saturday's 3-2 shootout win over the Stars.
That stretch also includes a two-game stint as a healthy scratch, but that came as the calendar flipped from October to November. Zary's offense wasn't sparked by that, and he's been stuck in a bottom-six role while trying to get going. On the season, he has just two points with 28 shots on net, 14 hits, 10 PIM and a minus-3 rating over 21 appearances. He's in the first season of a three-year contract, but the 24-year-old needs to show a lot more on offense to be part of the Flames' long-term plans.

Flames' Connor Zary: Bats in power-play goal
Zary scored a power-play goal on three shots in Wednesday's 4-3 shootout win over the Oilers.
Zary was able to knock down a rebound of an Adam Klapka shot, and it was upheld as a legal goal. The 24-year-old Zary has potted 27 goals over his first 117 career games, but now entering his third NHL campaign, he could be due for a breakout year. He was on the third line Wednesday and saw just 14:22 of ice time in the season opener, but a strong performance early in the year will likely lead to more ice time for the forward, especially given the lack of established high-end scorers in the Flames' lineup.

Flames' Connor Zary: Cleared for camp
General manager Craig Conroy said all of the Flames' players are healthy for Thursday's first practice at training camp, indicating Zary (knee) has recovered from his injury, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports.
Zary signed a three-year deal in September as a restricted free agent. The 23-year-old had 27 points in 54 contests in his second NHL campaign, a small step back from his 34-point rookie season. Zary will be in contention for a top-six role this season, though it's not yet clear if he'll center his own line or play on the wing.

Flames' Connor Zary: Agrees to three-year deal
Zary (knee) inked a three-year, $11.325 million contract with Calgary on Friday, per Eric Francis of Sportsnet.
Zary, who was a restricted free agent this summer, missed Calgary's final 11 games of 2024-25 due to his knee injury. He had 13 goals and 27 points in 54 appearances with the Flames as a sophomore last year, which represented a bit of a regression from his 34 points in 63 outings in 2023-24. Although his offensive numbers haven't stood out yet, the 23-year-old (24 on Sept. 25) does have the potential to improve meaningfully over the length of this contract. He should get a good opportunity to take a step forward in a top-six capacity this season.

Flames' Connor Zary: Unavailable Thursday
Zary (knee) is expected to miss Thursday's season finale against the Kings, per the NHL media site.
Zary will conclude the season with 13 goals and 27 points in 54 appearances. That's a modest dip from his 34 points (14 goals) as a rookie in 2023-24, though he did appear in 63 games during that season.

Flames' Connor Zary: Deemed week-to-week
Zary (knee) won't play against Edmonton on Saturday and is week-to-week.
Zary sustained the injury in Thursday's 5-2 loss to Dallas. He has registered 13 goals, 27 points and 111 shots on net in 54 appearances this season. Zary will be replaced in Saturday's lineup by Yegor Sharangovich.

Flames' Connor Zary: Initial assessment encouraging
Zary (knee) underwent an initial assessment that offered encouraging results, but he'll require further testing and imaging to determine the extent of his injury, Darren Dreger of TSN reports Friday.
Zary sustained a left knee injury during Thursday's game against the Stars and appeared to be in considerable pain, so it's encouraging that he appeared to get at least some good news in the immediate aftermath. However, he also dealt with a left knee injury earlier in the season that forced him to miss 15 games, so his availability for the final three weeks of the regular season isn't yet clear. If Zary misses additional time, Yegor Sharangovich will likely draw into the lineup.

Flames' Connor Zary: Departs Thursday's game
Zary suffered an apparent knee injury Thursday versus the Stars, and there was no update on his status following the game, Logan Gordon of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports.
Zary collided with Mikko Rantanen in the third period and was in agony on the ice. The injury was on Zary's left knee, which is the same one he hurt earlier in the campaign, leading to a 15-game absence. If the injury is as bad as it appeared this time around, he is likely to be shut down for at least the rest of the regular season. Yegor Sharangovich would likely return to the lineup in that case.

Flames' Connor Zary: Sparks comeback Thursday
Zary scored a goal on five shots in Thursday's 5-3 win over the Devils.
Zary's goal at 6:50 of the third period was the first of four tallies in the frame for the Flames as they pulled off a comeback win. The 23-year-old also led all Calgary forwards with 21:57 of ice time. Zary has a goal and an assist, as well as nine shots, over two contests following a two-game suspension. He's at 13 goals, 26 points, 105 shots on net and a minus-7 rating through 51 outings in 2024-25. Fantasy managers in need of a boost in points or shots should consider Zary for the final few weeks of the season.

Flames' Connor Zary: Earns assist in return
Zary logged an assist and four shots on goal in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Rangers.
Zary returned from a two-game suspension and was shuffled up to the first line amid some adjustments to the Flames' forward trios. It proved to be a productive spot, as Zary had the secondary helper on Nazem Kadri's game-tying goal midway through the first period. Zary was on the fourth line prior to his suspension, but he often subbed in for shifts with other forwards during that time. The 23-year-old forward is at 12 goals, 13 assists, 100 shots on net and a minus-7 rating over 50 appearances this season, which is enough production to help in deeper formats.

Flames' Connor Zary: Eligible to play Tuesday
Zary has served his two-game suspension and will be available against the Rangers on Tuesday.
Zary was struggling to produce offensively prior to his suspension, having generated points in just one of his previous nine outings. During that stretch, the winger recorded just 13 shots, four hits and four blocks, so he's also not providing much in the way of category coverage either.

Flames' Connor Zary: Hit with two-game ban
Zary has been suspended for two games by the Department of Player Safety on Thursday.
Zary will miss games against the Avalanche and Maple Leafs on Friday and Monday, respectively, while serving his suspension for elbowing Vancouver Elias Pettersson in Wednesday's contest. With Zary unavailable, Adam Klapka could slide into a fourth-line role, though the Flames may have to call up a player from the minors if Mikael Backlund (upper body) can't play either.

Flames' Connor Zary: Headed for suspension
Zary will have a hearing with the Department of Player Safety on Thursday for elbowing.
At this point, Zary should be expected to miss at least one game due to suspension, though it could certainly be longer. With the winger set to at least be unavailable versus the Avalanche on Friday, Adam Klapka will likely jump into the lineup against Colorado in what would be just his 14th NHL game of the season.

Flames' Connor Zary: Strikes twice in Philadelphia
Zary scored two goals in Tuesday's 6-3 win over the Flyers.
The 23-year-old lit the lamp twice in less than two minutes during the first period as Calgary raced out to an early 3-0 lead. It was the first multi-goal performance of Zary's career, and the points were his first in six games since returning from a lower-body injury after the 4 Nations Face-Off break. On the season, he's produced 12 goals and 24 points over 46 appearances.

Flames' Connor Zary: Activated Sunday
Zary (knee) will be activated from injured reserve ahead of Sunday's matchup with San Jose, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports.
While coach Ryan Huska didn't confirm that Zary will play Sunday, it appears that the 23-year-old forward is poised to return after missing Calgary's last 15 games. Zary has 10 goals and 22 points in 40 games this season.

Flames' Connor Zary: Out indefinitely, no surgery needed
Zary's lower-body injury won't require surgery but he is considered out indefinitely, the Flames reported Friday.
Zary was injured in Tuesday's game against the Ducks, but it appears he has avoided a worst-case scenario. He will begin his rehab immediately, per the team, but there's no telling when he'll be able to make his return from injured reserve. Rory Kerins was called up when Zary went on IR and figures to take on a bottom-six role initially.

Flames' Connor Zary: Placed on injured reserve
Zary (lower body) was placed on injured reserve Friday, according to Tom Gulitti of NHL.com.
Zary was injured Tuesday when he collided knee-on-knee with Anaheim's Drew Helleson in the middle stanza. Zary is having a nice sophomore season in the NHL, tallying 10 goals and adding 12 assists in 40 games. He has been a force on the power play with one goal and eight assists while averaging 2:21 of ice time.

Flames' Connor Zary: Hurt in Tuesday's game
Zary (lower body) won't return to Tuesday's game versus the Ducks, Eric Francis of Sportsnet reports.
Zary got the worst of a knee-on-knee hit from Drew Helleson in the second period and was in substantial pain as he left the ice. The 23-year-old Zary could be looking at a significant absence given the nature of the collision -- it's doubtful he'll play Wednesday in Los Angeles at a minimum. Assuming he misses time, Yegor Sharangovich will probably slide over to center while Walker Duehr would likely enter the lineup.
