Top Taylor Makar News

  • Avalanche's Taylor Makar: Scores both goals in AHL win

Makar scored two goals in AHL Colorado's 2-1 win over Rockford on Saturday.

Makar has scored four of his five goals this season over the last four games. He's still at just eight points and a plus-11 rating over 20 appearances. He's seen a couple of call-ups to the Avalanche, but he'll spend most of 2025-26 in the AHL.

  • Avalanche's Taylor Makar: Two goals for AHL club

Makar scored twice in AHL Colorado's 4-2 win over San Jose on Friday.

Makar saw a little NHL action earlier in November, but the Avalanche have rotated through a few options to fill out their forward depth. The 24-year-old's rhythm was likely disrupted by the call-ups, as his effort Friday snapped a seven-game point drought at the AHL level. He has just six points in 17 games. The 24-year-old is in his first full AHL campaign, so there is likely a bit of an adjustment period in play here.

  • Avalanche's Taylor Makar: Reassigned to minors

Makar was reassigned to AHL Colorado on Sunday.

Makar has been shuffled between the NHL and AHL clubs recently, and he'll head back to the minors after appearing in Sunday's win over the Islanders. Over three appearances with the Avalanche this year, Makar has been held scoreless on three shots while racking up six hits.

  • Avalanche's Taylor Makar: Back-and-forth continues

Makar has been recalled from AHL Colorado by the Avalanche, the team announced Sunday.

The Avalanche certainly are taking advantage of their AHL affiliate's close proximity to Denver. Makar was sent down after being recalled and appearing in Thursday's win over the Sabres, and now he's back up to presumably fill out the lineup for Sunday's contest against the Islanders. The 24-year-old is still seeking his first NHL point and has appeared in two contests this season.

  • Avalanche's Taylor Makar: Returns to AHL

Makar was reassigned to AHL Colorado on Thursday following a 6-3 win over the Sabres.

This has been standard operating procedure for the Avalanche when making a call-up to fill out their lineup for a game. Makar played on the fourth line and posted three shots on goal and three hits in 7:11 of ice time in Thursday's contest. It's unclear when his next opportunity in the NHL will be, but he could continue to get looks in the absence of Valeri Nichushkin (lower body).

  • Avalanche's Taylor Makar: Back in NHL

Makar was recalled from AHL Colorado on Thursday.

Makar made his NHL debut Nov. 1 against San Jose, picking up one hit in 6:07 of action. He had one goal and three assists in 13 AHL games for the Eagles before his recall.
