Danil Yurtaikin: Waived unconditionally
The Sharks placed Yurtaikin on unconditional waivers for the purpose of terminating his contract Thursday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.
Yurtaikin played pretty well in the minors last season, picking up 17 points in 37 contests with AHL San Jose, so this may be an instance of a player asking for his contract to be terminated in order to explore opportunities in his native country. Yurtaikin's North American playing career has likely come to an end.

Yurtaikin was demoted to AHL San Jose on Monday.
Yurtaikin was recalled Sunday and sent back down Monday without appearing in a game during the very brief stint. He'll return to AHL San Jose, where he has nine points in 27 games.

Sharks' Danil Yurtaikin: Summoned to big club
The Sharks recalled Yurtaikin from AHL San Jose on Sunday.
Yurtaikin appeared in four NHL contests in October but is still looking for his first point at the top level. The 22-year-old winger has tallied nine points in 27 AHL games this season. If he cracks the Sharks' lineup, Yurtaikin will likely skate in a bottom-six role.
