Ostlund sparked the Sabres' offense Monday when he scored just over two minutes into regulation. With the opening twine finder, he has seven goals, 10 points and 31 shots on net through 27 appearances this season. The 21-year-old center's brief stint with AHL Rochester midway through December has paid dividends for him, as he has scored four goals in seven games since his return to the NHL. Ostlund is one of many young players in the Sabres' lineup who have stepped up their game during the team's nine-game win streak, as he has added a plus-five rating, 11 shots on net and two blocks to the cause in addition to his goals. The rookie is a solid streaming option in fantasy while the Sabres' offense is firing on all cylinders. It was the first multi-goal performance of the 21-year-old's brief career, as Ostlund tucked the puck past Stuart Skinner on a nifty bit of stickhandling late in the first period before snapping home a shot from the faceoff dot midway through the third. Sabres' Noah Ostlund: Pots first goal
Ostlund scored his first career NHL goal in Tuesday's 2-1 overtime loss to the Mammoth.
Skating in his 13th career game, and his fifth this season, Ostlund got a dose of good fortune to light the lamp for the first time. His initial shot from the slot sailed over the net, only for the puck to bounce into the air off the glass and wind up landing right at Ostlund's feet for a second chance. He tied the game midway through the third period. The 16th overall pick in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft hasn't been able to establish himself at the top level yet. However, he's had no trouble making an impact in the AHL, getting his promotion this season after recording two goals and seven points in six games for Rochester. With a spot in the middle six and on the second power-play unit, Ostlund could begin to make his mark for Buffalo as well.

Ostlund was selected 16th overall in the 2022 opening round. He has yet to accrue a point in 12 career NHL games, including four this season. Head coach Lindy ruff relayed Tuesday that Ostlund (undisclosed) is week-to-week, Paul Hamilton of WGR Sports Radio 550 reports.
Ruff said that Ostlund is "getting therapy for something," but the 21-year-old forward is skating. That rules out the 2022 first-round selection, No. 16 overall, for the remainder of the preseason, and he'll likely begin the 2025-26 season with AHL Rochester once he's healthy. Ostlund provided 19 goals, 36 points and a plus-20 rating over 45 regular-season appearances with the Americans in 2024-25.
