Flyers' Adam Ginning: Goes on waivers
Ginning was placed on waivers Sunday, according to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.
Ginning hasn't been in Philadelphia's lineup since Oct. 25 against the Islanders, and he has made only five NHL appearances this season. The Flyers recalled him from his minor-league conditioning loan before putting him on waivers. He will likely report back to AHL Lehigh Valley if another team doesn't claim him.

Ginning was reassigned to AHL Lehigh Valley on a conditioning assignment Tuesday.
Ginning has played in just one of the Flyers' last 14 contests as he watches Emil Andrae getting the bulk of the workload on the blue line. At some point, the team may have to consider permanently moving Ginning to the minors, though he would need to pass through waivers first, which is likely why the team doesn't want to have to go that route yet.

Ginning was scratched for the ninth consecutive game Friday in a 6-5 shootout win over the Blues.
The Flyers have routinely carried eight defensemen this season, and Ginning is one of six left-shot blueliners. That has left little opportunity for the 25-year-old to play over younger options like Emil Andrae or Egor Zamula. Ginning has appeared in five of the Flyers' first 17 games, recording two shots on net, four hits and five blocked shots while averaging 15:20 of ice time. He'd need waivers to be reassigned to AHL Lehigh Valley, and that's unlikely to happen at least until Rasmus Ristolainen (triceps) is ready for his season debut.
