Top Stian Solberg News

  • Ducks' Stian Solberg: Tallies twice in AHL win

Solberg scored two goals in AHL San Diego's 5-4 win over Rockford on Saturday.

Solberg has picked up the pace with four goals and an assist over his last six outings. For the season, he's at a modest eight goals, 14 points, 72 PIM and a minus-10 rating over 47 appearances. The 20-year-old defenseman is still finding his way in the AHL, but his long-term future in fantasy isn't likely to be significant, as it's his physical play that makes him a promising prospect.

  • Ducks' Stian Solberg: Demoted to AHL

Solberg was reassigned to AHL San Diego on Thursday.

Solberg will likely spend most of the year with the Gulls. The 19-year-old defenseman got a taste of AHL play at the end of 2024-25, racking up five points in 10 games. The Norwegian blueliner will look to build on that performance over a full season, which could position him to get a call-up to the NHL roster at some point in 2025-26.

  • Ducks' Stian Solberg: Heading to North America

Solberg was assigned to AHL San Diego from Farjestad of the Swedish Hockey League on Sunday.

Solberg, the 23rd overall pick in the 2024 NHL draft, will make his debut in North America after tallying three goals and 12 points in 47 games in the SHL. Still only 19 years old, the Norwegian blueliner is a highly-regarded defensive prospect, though he'll likely need some time to develop in the AHL.

  • Ducks' Stian Solberg: Solid in Sweden

Solberg has two goals and nine points in 37 appearances with Farjestads BK Karlstad of the Swedish Hockey League.

Those offensive numbers might not jump out as being great, but he's a 19-year-old defenseman playing in an adult league, so that's actually pretty decent production under the circumstances. He still might not end up developing into a major offensive contributor in the NHL, but it wouldn't be surprising to see him turn into a steady presence, perhaps even in a top-four capacity. Solberg was selected by Anaheim with the No. 23 overall pick in the 2024 NHL Draft.
