Canadiens' Noah Dobson: Three helpers in Boston
Dobson notched three assists, two on the power play, in Tuesday's 6-2 win over the Bruins.
After helping to set up the game's opening tally by Sammy Blais midway through the third period, Dobson had a hand in third-period goals by Cole Caufield and Nick Suzuki to help the Canadiens pull away. Dobson has caught fire, collecting two goals and five points in the last four games. Through 37 contests to begin his first campaign with Montreal, he's produced six goals and 23 points with 87 blocked shots, 66 shots on net, 20 PIM and a plus-2 rating.

Canadiens' Noah Dobson: Lights lamp Sunday
Dobson scored a goal on three shots, blocked two shots and added two PIM in Sunday's 4-3 shootout loss to the Penguins.
Dobson has two goals over his last three games, though he's gotten on the scoresheet in just three of 12 contests in December. While it's been a bit of a rough month, the 25-year-old remains firmly in a top-four role for the Canadiens, which gives him the opportunity to turn his production around. He's at six goals, 20 points, 66 shots on net, 85 blocked shots, 20 PIM and a plus-2 rating through 36 outings overall.

Canadiens' Noah Dobson: Tallies in Thursday's win
Dobson scored a goal on two shots, added two PIM and blocked two shots in Thursday's 4-1 win over the Blackhawks.
The goal initially looked to be Owen Beck's, but Dobson ultimately got credit for it. This ended a five-game slump for Dobson, who has gotten on the scoresheet in just two of the Canadiens' last 12 contests. For the season, the 25-year-old defenseman has five goals, 19 points, 61 shots on net, 82 blocked shots, 18 PIM and an even plus-minus rating. He continues to play important top-four minutes, and he should be capable of reaching the 40-point mark this year after missing it by one in 2024-25.

Canadiens' Noah Dobson: One of each in Sunday's loss
Dobson scored a goal on four shots, dished an assist and added two PIM in Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Blues.
Dobson helped out on a Cole Caufield tally in the first period before scoring one of his own in the third. This effort snapped a five-game slump for Dobson, who had points in four straight contests prior to his dry spell. The 25-year-old defenseman is up to four goals, 14 helpers, 52 shots on net, 61 blocked shots and a minus-2 rating over 28 appearances in a top-four role.

Canadiens' Noah Dobson: Nets two goals Saturday
Dobson scored two goals in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Maple Leafs.
Dobson was a huge scoring threat from the blue line, and he found the back of the net late in the first period and early in the second frame. They were his second and third goals of the campaign, and those markers bring him up to 15 points in 21 outings this year. He's bouncing back nicely from his 39 points in 71 outings with the Islanders during the 2024-25 regular season.

Canadiens' Noah Dobson: Two helpers in OT loss
Dobson notched two assists in Thursday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Devils.
The 25-year-old blueliner delivered his second multi-point performance in four games, helping to set up tallies by Kirby Dach in the first period and Jake Evans in the third. Dobson's first season with Montreal has gone swimmingly even though he's no longer on the first power-play unit as he was with the Isles. Through 14 contests, he's produced a goal and 10 points with 29 blocked shots, 25 shots on net and a plus-5 rating.

Canadiens' Noah Dobson: Garners two assists
Dobson logged two assists, including one on the power play, and added three shots on goal in Tuesday's 4-3 overtime win over the Kraken.
This was Dobson's first multi-point effort in a Canadiens uniform. The 25-year-old hasn't been held off the scoresheet in consecutive contests, but his longest streak is just two games. The defenseman is at one goal, six helpers, 19 shots on net, 23 blocked shots and a plus-2 rating through 11 appearances. His power-play time has dropped as he plays second fiddle to Lane Hutson, but Dobson is talented enough to remain productive on offense through primarily even-strength contributions.

Canadiens' Noah Dobson: Pots first goal of season
Dobson scored a goal, took three shots, recorded a hit and blocked two shots in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Rangers.
Dobson finally found the twine for the first time this season, and he had been pushing for his first goal, as this was the third time over his last four games in which he's recorded multiple shots. Dobson is up to three points across six games this season, and he should continue to find opportunities to produce given his consistent involvement -- he owns a steady top-pairing role while also being a regular fixture on the power play.

Canadiens' Noah Dobson: Returns to the lineup Saturday
Dobson (groin) will be in the lineup versus Ottawa on Saturday, according to Patrick Friolet of RDS.ca.
Dobson will return to action in Montreal's final preseason game after leaving a matchup against Toronto on Sept. 25. He struggled in 2024-25 with the Islanders, earning only 39 regular-season points. After being acquired by the Canadiens in the offseason, the 25-year-old could bounce back with at least 55 points if he remains healthy.

Canadiens' Noah Dobson: Still sidelined Tuesday
Dobson (groin) will not be in the lineup against the Senators on Tuesday, Stu Cowan of the Montreal Gazette reports.
Dobson has technically been classified as day-to-day, but his continued absence doesn't bode well for his availability heading into Opening Night against the Maple Leafs on Oct. 8. Still, Dobson should run the No. 1 power-play unit once given the all-clear, setting him up to get back over the 40-point threshold after coming up one point short in 2024-25.

Canadiens' Noah Dobson: Deemed day-to-day
Dobson is considered day-to-day with a groin injury after exiting Thursday's preseason game versus the Maple Leafs, Eric Engels of Sportsnet reports.
Dobson's day-to-day designation shouldn't raise too much concern during the preseason. The Canadiens have three exhibition games left before the regular season, and it's not yet clear if Dobson will get into any of them.

Canadiens' Noah Dobson: Exits Thursday's preseason game
Dobson (undisclosed) won't return to Thursday's preseason game versus the Maple Leafs.
Dobson exited the game prior to the third period. It's possible this is just a precautionary move, but the Canadiens did not provide additional details. It's unclear if he'll be able to play in Saturday's rematch with Toronto -- given that it's preseason, expect Montreal to be cautious with Dobson's recovery.

Canadiens' Noah Dobson: Signs and dealt to Montreal
Dobson signed an eight-year, $76 million contract extension with the Islanders and was dealt to Montreal on Friday in exchange for Emil Heineman and Montreal's two first-round picks in 2025, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
The move will give the Canadiens an outstanding young defense, including Lane Hutson, Kaiden Guhle and the up-and-coming David Reinbacher. Dobson had 10 goals and 29 assists in 71 regular-season appearances with the Islanders in 2024-25, but he starred the previous campaign with 10 goals and 60 assists. Dobson could pair with Hutson on the power play to give the Canadiens a pair of outstanding men on the point.

Islanders' Noah Dobson: Fourth year with at least 10 goals
Dobson had a goal and an assist in a 4-3 shootout loss to the Flyers on Saturday.
The goal gives him 10 this season -- it's his fourth consecutive campaign with double-digit goals. Dobson has had a down year with just 39 points (68 games) after racking up 70 points in 79 outings in 2023-24. However, this was a down year for every Islander not named Ilya Sorokin (lower body). We fully anticipate a much better 2025-26, and you might be able to draft Dobson a round or two lower next year.

Islanders' Noah Dobson: Pair of points in Friday's win
Dobson scored a power-play goal, dished an assist and blocked two shots in Friday's 3-1 win over the Wild.
Amid a stretch of one assist over five games, Dobson was demoted to the third pairing. It appears head coach Patrick Roy's adjustment worked, as Dobson's offense came to life with a multi-point performance, his fourth in his last nine contests. The defenseman is up to nine goals, 37 points (11 on the power play), 184 shots on net, 111 blocked shots, 55 hits and a minus-15 rating over 64 appearances this season.

Islanders' Noah Dobson: Manages power-play helper Sunday
Dobson logged a power-play assist, four shots on goal, four PIM and a minus-2 rating in Sunday's 6-4 loss to the Hurricanes.
Dobson set up Kyle Palmieri's game-tying goal in the first period. This ended a three-game drought for Dobson, though he took a minus rating for the sixth contest in a row, going minus-12 with five helpers in that span. For the season, the 25-year-old blueliner has 35 points, 183 shots on net, 109 blocked shots, 53 hits, 24 PIM and a minus-15 rating over 62 appearances. The Islanders' abysmal power-play conversion rate (12.6 percent) has accounted for much of his drop in offense this season.
