Top Stars News

  • Stars' Trey Taylor: Loaned to AHL affiliate

Taylor was returned to AHL Texas on Sunday.

Taylor made his NHL debut in Thursday's 5-2 loss to Montreal, posting one hit in 10:44 of ice time. He was a healthy scratch for Saturday's 3-1 win over Columbus because Esa Lindell returned to the lineup from a lower-body injury. Taylor has three assists in eight AHL outings this season.

  • Stars' Miro Heiskanen: Produces pair of helpers

Heiskanen notched two assists and two blocked shots in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Blue Jackets.

This was Heiskanen's second multi-point effort of the campaign. He's gone seven games without a goal but still has five assists, including two on the power play, in that span. The star defenseman is up to three goals, eight helpers, 26 shots on net, 16 blocked shots, 10 PIM and a plus-2 rating through 14 outings this season. He should continue to see significant ice time in all situations.

  • Stars' Thomas Harley: Beats buzzer in first period

Harley scored a goal on two shots in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Blue Jackets.

Harley caught Jet Greaves napping at the end of the first period to give the Stars a 2-0 lead. This was the first tally of the season for Harley, who has handled a lot of ice time in a top-four role this season. He was down to 22:49 of ice time Saturday with the return of Esa Lindell from a lower-body injury. Harley has produced six points, 25 shots on net, 29 blocked shots, 14 hits and an even plus-minus rating over 14 appearances. He won't see top usage at even strength or on the power play as long as Miro Heiskanen stays healthy, and that will limit Harley's ability to pile up points.

  • Stars' Mikko Rantanen: Opens scoring on power play

Rantanen scored a power-play goal on three shots in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Blue Jackets.

Rantanen continues to pile up points with five goals and six assists over his last eight games. He had a fairly modest start to the year but has quickly gotten back to looking like a superstar again. He's at seven tallies, 17 points (five on the power play), 28 shots on net, 13 hits, 12 PIM and a plus-5 rating over 14 appearances.

  • Stars' Arttu Hyry: Surprise two-point earner

Hyry scored an empty-net goal on four shots, dished an assist, went plus-2 and added three hits in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Blue Jackets.

Hyry ended a five-game point drought with the effort. The 25-year-old forward has gotten on the scoresheet in just three of 14 games, but two of those instances have been multi-point efforts. He has a career-high four goals with one assist, 26 shots on net, 29 hits, seven PIM and an even plus-minus rating to start the campaign. He's firmly in a bottom-six role while the Stars deal with some injuries to forwards.

  • Stars' Jake Oettinger: Cruises to win

Oettinger stopped 24 of 25 shots in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Blue Jackets.

The Stars led 2-0 after the first period, and the Blue Jackets never offered much of a threat. Oettinger had allowed seven goals over his last two games, but he was able to lock things down in a favorable matchup to bounce back from his loss versus the Canadiens on Thursday. For the season, the 27-year-old netminder is 7-3-1 with a 1.63 GAA and a .921 save percentage across 11 starts. The Stars' next game is Tuesday on the road versus the Capitals, which could be more of a challenging matchup.

  • Stars' Harrison Scott: Two goals in AHL loss

Scott scored twice in AHL Texas' 6-3 loss to Chicago on Saturday.

Scott had a good game, but the rest of Texas' lineup struggled a bit. The 26-year-old winger was hampered by an injury to start the season. He's now at two goals, one assist and nine shots on net over five games for Texas. He had 32 points in 72 regular-season outings in 2025-26.

  • Stars' Kyle Capobianco: Shifts to IR

Capobianco (leg) was placed on injured reserve Saturday, per Robert Tiffin of NHL.com.

In a corresponding move, Dallas activated Esa Lindell (lower body) from injured reserve. Capobianco is expected to miss about four weeks because of a suspected leg injury. He hasn't posted a point in five appearances with Dallas in 2026-27, but he has contributed three shots on net, three blocked shots, two hits and four PIM.

  • Stars' Esa Lindell: Activated from IR

Lindell (lower body) was activated from injured reserve Saturday.

After missing the last five games, Lindell is expected to return to the lineup against Columbus on Saturday. He hasn't earned a point in eight appearances this season, but he has posted four shots on net, 18 blocked shots and five hits. Lindell is projected to replace Trey Taylor in Saturday's lineup against the Blue Jackets.

  • Stars' Jake Oettinger: Facing Columbus

Oettinger will defend the home crease in Saturday's clash against the Blue Jackets, per Stars radio analyst Bruce LeVine.

Oettinger will don the mask for a Halloween Night clash against Columbus, as he looks to bounce back after he lost his first game since Oct. 13 on Thursday. Overall, the 27-year-old netminder has a 6-3-1 record, a 1.69 GAA, a league-leading three shutouts and a .917 save percentage across 10 appearances this season. He remains one of the top starts across all fantasy formats for Saturday, as the Blue Jackets rank 29th in the NHL with 2.45 goals per game this season.

  • Stars' Matthew Seminoff: Sent to minors

Seminoff was loaned to AHL Texas on Friday.

Seminoff was called up by Dallas on Sunday, and he appeared in three games during his time with the NHL club. He was held scoreless with three hits and two blocked shots while averaging 7:21 of ice time, but he'll now head back to the minors, which signals that some of the Stars' injured forwards could be getting closer to returning.

  • Stars' Mikko Rantanen: Helps out twice Thursday

Rantanen recorded two assists, including one on the power play, and served two PIM in Thursday's 5-2 loss to Montreal.

Rantanen slid the primary pass on each of the Stars' goals Thursday, including Wyatt Johnston's power-play tally midway through the first period. The 20-year-old Rantanen is up to 10 assists, 16 points, a plus-6 rating, 25 shots on net and 13 hits across 13 appearances this season. He's provided elite-level fantasy production so far, and has been heating up with three multi-point outings over his last five games. Fantasy managers who used a high pick on him should expect Rantanen to get back to 90-point range, barring injury.

  • Stars' Jamie Benn: Bags goal in loss

Benn scored a goal and placed two shots on net in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Canadiens.

Benn's even-strength tally Thursday came midway through the second period and cut the Stars' deficit to two scores. Overall, the 37-year-old forward now has two goals, four points, 19 PIM, 17 shots on net and 16 hits across 13 appearances this season. He's posted two of his four points this season over his last three outings, which could be a sign that he's turning a corner offensively. He's secured 15-plus goals in each of the last five seasons, which remains a solid target for the 18-year NHL veteran. Given his category coverage and resume, he's a serviceable streaming option in deep fantasy leagues.

  • Stars' Wyatt Johnston: Nets goal on power play

Johnston tallied a power-play goal, dished out an assist and placed two shots on net in Thursday's 5-2 loss to Montreal.

Johnston has been heating up as of late, as he's posted exactly one goal and assist in three of his last four appearances. Following Thursday's performance, the 23-year-old forward is up to three goals, 10 points, 29 shots on net, 11 hits and seven blocked shots across 11 outings this season. While his season got off to a slow start, he seemed to shake off any lingering rust from the offseason, compiling nine points over his last eight games. He still has a strong chance to challenge the 85-point threshold once again, making him a high-level fantasy option with positional flexibility.

  • Stars' Jake Oettinger: Struggles against Habs

Oettinger turned away 16 of 20 shots on goal in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Canadiens.

Oettinger had a rare blip to his success this season, as he had his four-game winning streak snapped in Thursday's contest. In the losing effort, he allowed three goals in the first period, including a pair of goals within a 27-second span. Overall, the 27-year-old netminder now has a 6-3-1 record, a 1.69 GAA, a .917 save percentage and a league-leading three shutouts across 10 outings. Despite Thursday's rough outing, he remains an elite-level fantasy option with a level of upside that could capture him his first-career Vezina Trophy.

  • Stars' Cameron Hughes: Waived by Dallas

Hughes (upper body) was placed on waivers by the Stars on Thursday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.

Hughes began the regular season on the injured non-roster list, but his placement on waivers suggests that he's ready to return to game action. Assuming he clears waivers, the 30-year-old will presumably head to AHL Texas.

  • Stars' Kyle Capobianco: Set to miss roughly four weeks

Capobianco (leg) is expected to miss around four weeks, per Stars TV host Brien Rea.

After initial reports regarding Capobianco's injury expected him to miss at least one week, he's likely going to miss four times that following his recent MRI. It's a tough loss for the Stars and Capobianco, who had posted three shots on net, four PIM, two hits and three blocked shots across five appearances this season. In his absence, Trey Taylor is expected to make his NHL debut Thursday and likely play until Esa Lindell (lower body) is activated from injured reserve. Barring any setbacks, Capobianco should have a chance to rejoin the Stars' lineup prior to the start of December.
