Rangers' James Reimer: Deemed day-to-day
Reimer (upper body) was tagged as day-to-day Tuesday, per Vince Z. Mercogliano of The Athletic.
After seemingly getting the hook due to early struggles in his Rangers debut Monday, it appears that Reimer sustained an injury in the contest, which likely played a part in the team's decision to pull him after the first period. He made five saves on eight attempts Monday, but wasn't credited with the loss due to the Kings' offense going off in a 6-3 win. Reimer is the third goalie for the Rangers to suffer an injury this season. However, the team doesn't play again until Sunday, meaning that he might not miss any time. If he can't go in New York's next clash, Spencer Martin will likely be called up to serve as the backup.

Rangers' Tye Kartye: Contributes two points in loss
Kartye deposited a goal, dished out an assist, placed two shots on net and put out five hits in Monday's 6-3 loss to the Kings.
Kartye has been a pleasant surprise for the Rangers in the early stages of the new season. Monday's outing was his third multi-point performance of the 2026-27 season, where he's up to four goals, 10 points, 21 shots on net, a plus-1 rating and 38 hits across 14 appearances. He's looked like a whole new player since he was claimed off waivers by the Rangers late in the 2025-26 campaign, and he should continue to post strong category-coverage numbers from a top-six role for his new squad. Kartye is an excellent waiver-wire pickup in deep leagues, especially those that value banger stats.

Rangers' Adam Fox: Finds twine in 500th game
Fox tallied a power-play goal, fired four shots on net and recorded two blocked shots in Monday's 6-3 loss to Los Angeles.
Fox reached a milestone in Monday's clash, as he suited up for his 500th career regular-season game. Despite the loss, he made it a memorable night with his power-play tally in the middle of the second period. Monday's tally was his first goal of the season, and he's now up to 17 points, a plus-2 rating, 17 shots on net and 25 blocked shots across 14 appearances this season. He's currently on a four-game point streak with a goal and seven assists in that span, making him one of the true elite blueliners to have in fantasy hockey. As long as he can stay healthy, the 28-year-old Fox should be able to challenge the 70-point mark once again.

Rangers' J.T. Miller: Pots goal in loss
Miller recorded a goal, launched six shots on net and served two PIM in Monday's 6-3 loss to the Kings.
Miller positioned himself well in front of the crease to get the Rangers on the board Monday, as he redirected a pass from Tye Kartye into the back of the net. With Monday's twine finder, the 33-year-old Miller is up to four goals, 10 points, 22 shots on net, 18 hits and six blocked shots across 14 appearances. He's heating up as of late with three goals, four points and 10 shots on net over his last four outings. He remains a solid center option in fantasy that offers decent category-coverage numbers for fantasy managers in search of shots on net and hits.

Rangers' Dylan Garand: Called upon again Monday
Garand turned aside 15 of the 17 shots on goal he saw in Monday's 6-3 loss to Los Angeles.
Garand entered the contest in relief of James Reimer, who allowed three goals on eight shots on net in his team debut. Garand has been deployed constantly to begin the 2026-27 season, as Monday's outing marked his 10th appearance of the campaign, which is tied for second in the NHL. Overall, the 24-year-old Garand now has a 4-5-1 record, a 2.69 GAA, one shutout and an .899 save percentage. All things considered, Garand has held up well for playing just three games at the NHL level prior to the 2026-27 campaign, but he's trending in the wrong direction with three consecutive losses. He'll look to get back on track after nearly one week of rest, with the Rangers not playing again until Sunday. Currently, Garand is best left on waivers in fantasy outside of deep leagues for managers looking for a stash option.

Rangers' James Reimer: Gets pulled in team debut
Reimer stopped five of the eight shots on net he saw in Monday's 6-3 loss to the Kings.
Reimer's debut for the Rangers didn't go to plan, as he allowed two goals before making his first save in Monday's outing. He was eventually replaced by Dylan Garand to start the second period after he allowed a third goal late in the period to Drew Doughty. While expectations weren't through the roof for the 38-year-old Reimer following his signing Sunday, he was expected to be serviceable after posting a 35-save shutout with AHL Hartford in his lone outing of the season. The 16-year NHL veteran has time to turn things around with Joonas Korpisalo (foot) still sidelined, but Reimer is best left on waivers in fantasy for the time being with the Rangers off until Sunday.

Rangers' James Reimer: First goalie off Monday
Reimer was the first goalie off during Monday's morning skate, Vince Z. Mercogliano of The Athletic reports, indicating that he'll draw the home start against the Kings.
Reimer signed a contract with the Rangers on Sunday and is slated to make his team debut a day later. Dylan Garand initially served as the Rangers' primary netminder following Igor Shesterkin's season-ending knee injury, and Garand has gone 4-4-1 with a 2.65 GAA and .900 save percentage. Reimer brings a veteran presence to the Rangers and will likely have ample opportunities to carve out playing time.

Rangers' Tomas Chrenko: Sluggish pace in Slovakia
Chrenko has a goal and five assists over 14 games for HK Nitra of the Slovak Extraliga this season.
Chrenko's performance is fine, though it's a little disappointing compared to the 31 points he had in 44 regular-season games last year, as well as 12 points in 19 playoff outings. Chalk it up to a slow start for now. He's a versatile center who fill a variety of roles in the long run. Chrenko will play out this season in his native country, but his long-term development plans haven't been revealed yet.

Laba saw a five-game drought come to an end with his first multi-point effort of the season. The 23-year-old is filling a third-line role, mainly as a defensive center, so he won't be a steady source of points. He's racked up four helpers, 11 shots on net, 27 hits, seven blocked shots and six PIM through 13 outings this season.

Fox has seven helpers over his last three games. The star defenseman is in prime form this year, earning 16 helpers over his first 13 games despite coming up empty on 13 shots. He's added 23 blocks and a plus-4 rating while playing in a top-pairing role. Fox has just one point-per-game season in his career, though he's fallen just short a couple of other times. He might not keep this pace up all year, but he won't drop off significantly.

Dorofeyev had a mixed bag of a performance, but it included his third goal of the season. The 25-year-old winger has added four assists, 41 shots on net, five hits, four blocked shots and a minus-11 rating over 13 contests. Dorofeyev's shot volume is in line with previous seasons, clocking in at just under three shots per game, but he's shooting a career-worst 7.3 percent. Last year, in a 37-goal regular season, his longest scoring droughts were 12 and 10 games. He can run streaky, so don't be too worried yet -- a surge could come at any time.

Lafreniere has scored in consecutive contests. The seven shots were his most in any game this season as he continues to work his way toward a breakout campaign. The 25-year-old winger has nine goals, six assists, 30 shots on net, 13 hits, 14 PIM and a plus-3 rating across 13 appearances.

With the Rangers signing James Reimer to a one-year deal Sunday, Martin was the presumed odd-man out in the goalie room. Reimer's deal is reported to be a one-year, $850,000 contract, per Chris Johnston of The Athletic. He was given a professional tryout agreement by AHL Hartford, and after posting a 35-save shutout with the Wolf Pack in his lone appearance, he was released from the PTO to sign his new deal. The 38-year-old Reimer compiled a 7-4-2 record, a 2.42 GAA and an .886 save percentage across 14 regular-season outings with the Senators in 2025-26. He'll likely replace Spencer Martin as the backup, at least while Joonas Korpisalo (lower body) is unavailable. Dylan Garand has handled a heavy workload since Igor Shesterkin (knee) was lost for the season.

His recent workload suggests he's receiving substantial opportunities, although performances like this highlight the volatility of his fantasy value. Garand has made seven starts in a row, but the Rangers will have a five-day break between Oct. 26 and Nov. 1, meaning the 24-year-old goaltender will get some much-needed rest sooner rather than later. It seems he'll remain as the Rangers' No. 1 goaltender for the time being -- he has a 2.65 GAA and .900 save percentage in nine appearances thus far.
