Flyers' Dan Vladar: Can't recover from early team collapse

What a bizarre game. Vladar was assaulted by a marauding Blue Jackets squad midway in the first period, and he surrendered three goals in a 2:46 span. And then the snoozefest began -- Columbus barely mustered an attack in the next two frames. Vladar has looked a lot sharper of late, and he hasn't lost in regulation in his last four starts (2-0-2; eight goals allowed). Joseph Woll continues to push Vladar, and that will invariably help his game. The Flyers still struggle with consistency, though, and we never know exactly which orange-and-black team is going to show up.
Vladar will patrol the home crease in Tuesday's clash against the Blue Jackets, per Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia.
Given the Flyers' recent alternation of opportunities between the pipes, Vladar was expected to get the start nod for Tuesday after Joseph Woll played Saturday. Vladar has started to turn his season around, as he's won each of his last two outings while allowing just one goal in each appearances. Overall, the 29-year-old backstop has a 2-3-1 record, a 3.15 GAA and a .900 save percentage across six appearances. He'll look to keep his momentum rolling into Tuesday's contest against the Blue Jackets, who rank 30th in the NHL with 2.33 goals per game. Vladar is a solid No. 2 goalie option in standard fantasy formats Tuesday.

Ristolainen's placement on injured reserve was expected after head coach Rick Tocchet announced that the 32-year-old blueliner would miss roughly two weeks. Ristolainen had already missed nine games due to the same hand issue earlier in the season, but the injury flared back up in Saturday's clash against the Ducks. When healthy, he's been solid with a goal, five shots on net, seven hits and seven blocked shots across four appearances this season. The 25-year-old York has posted a minus-6 rating, six shots on net, five hits and 10 blocked shots across five appearances in the current season. Because he was activated prior to Tuesday's game, there is a solid chance that he will suit up, but it's not a guarantee. As long as he appears in a defensive pairing at Tuesday's morning skate, York should be back in the lineup, where he holds a decent all-around ceiling in deep fantasy leagues.

Gaucher appeared in one game for AHL Lehigh Valley before he rejoined the Flyers on Tuesday. The 25-year-old center has appeared in three games with Philadelphia so far this season, where he has tallied two PIM, a plus-1 rating, two shots on net, seven hits and three blocked shots. He'll likely be the 13th forward for Tuesday's clash against the Blue Jackets, but he'll have a decent shot at appearing in the second half of the Flyers' back to back on Wednesday.
Flyers' Rasmus Ristolainen: Expected to miss approximately two weeks

The Flyers announced Monday that Ristolainen is expected to miss approximately two weeks due to an upper-body injury.
Ristolainen returned to game action Saturday against the Ducks following a nine-game absence due to a hand injury. However, head coach Rick Tocchet said Monday that Ristolainen aggravated the issue, per Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia, which will result in another multi-week absence. Ristolainen could return at some point in the first half of November, but the Flyers' blue line will get a boost before then as Cam York (upper body) has been practicing recently and appears to be trending toward a return.

With the Flyers off until Tuesday, it gives them time to get either Owen Tippett (upper body) and Travis Konecny (lower body) from injured reserve, which could explain Gaucher's return to the AHL. He'l return to Lehigh Valley, where he's posted four goals, eight points and 15 shots on net in just six outings this season.
