  • Football Team's Chase Young: Undergoes successful surgery

Young had successful ACL surgery on Monday, Sam Fortier of The Washington Post reports.

Young suffered a torn ACL during Washington's Week 10 win over the Buccaneers. The 2020 No. 2 overall pick finished his second season in the NFL with 26 tackles and 1.5 sacks across nine games. He's expected to make a full recovery, but his rehab will likely stretch into next year's training camp and could even impact his status for the beginning of the 2022 campaign as well.

  • Football Team's Chase Young: Moved to IR

Young (knee) was placed on IR on Tuesday.

Young's move to the IR was a formality after he was diagnosed with a torn ACL on Monday. The No. 2 overall selection in 2020 will set his sights on getting healthy for the 2022 season. In a corresponding move, Washington signed fellow defensive lineman, Daniel Wise from the practice squad to the active roster.

  • Football Team's Chase Young: Torn ACL confirmed

Washington head coach Ron Rivera confirmed Monday that Young (knee) suffered a season-ending ACL tear in Sunday's 29-19 win over Tampa Bay, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Young's injury dims the luster of what was the best win of the season for Washington. The No. 2 overall selection in the 2020 NFL Draft will miss the remainder of the season, and his recovery could stretch into the 2022 campaign as well. He wraps up his second season with 26 tackles and 1.5 sacks in nine games.

  • Football Team's Chase Young: Could have suffered torn ACL

Young (knee) might have suffered a torn ACL, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Washington will wait for a full battery of tests, but if the diagnosis is confirmed, that would knock the star defender out for the rest of the season.

  • Football Team's Chase Young: Ruled out Sunday

Young (knee) has been ruled out of Sunday's game against Tampa Bay.

Young refused to get on the cart and was helped off the field before eventually departing the gridiron. There's no question his absence represents a big blow to Washington's defense, and this will open up more playing time for the likes of James Smith-Williams or Olubunmi Rotimi.

  • Football Team's Chase Young: Finally tallies sack

Young managed three tackles (one solo), one sack and a forced fumble during Washington's loss to New Orleans in Week 5.

Young finally managed to notch his first sack of the season, but there's no doubt that his performance through five weeks has been disappointing for fantasy managers. After managing 7.5 sacks as a rookie, Young has failed to put together much in the way of consistency to begin his sophomore season. He will need to log a better showing during the Football Team's upcoming contest against Kansas City.
