Purvis tallied 26 points (10-19 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 4-4 FT), four rebounds, two assists, two steals and a block in the 126-115 loss to the Hustle on Monday.
Purvis posted his first 20-plus point outing since February, registering his fourth-highest outing of the 2018-19 campaign. The 25-year-old is averaging 14.2 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.6 assists in 32.3 minutes through 44 games with Sioux Falls.

Rodney Purvis: Scores 23 in win
Purvis registered 23 points (9-19 FG, 2-9 3Pt, 3-5 FT), seven rebounds, five assists, three steals and a blocked shot in the win Wednesday over the Wolves.
Purvis has taken a drastic step back in terms of scoring during his second G League season, averaging 13.1 points compared to the 20.5 he put together with Lakeland in 2017-18. That's in large part because he's seeing significantly less minutes as part of a structured rotation among the current group of Sioux Falls guards where the likes of Bubu Palo, Briante Weber and DeAndre Liggins have seen significant minutes in recent games.

Purvis led the Skyforce in minutes Monday, acting as the secondary scoring option behind center Raphiael Putney. Through five games, Purvis is averaging 16.8 points per contest and is boasting a healthy 48 percent from the field.

Heat's Rodney Purvis: Signs with Miami
Purvis signed a contract with the Heat on Thursday.
Purvis spent the 2017-18 campaign with Orlando, but saw action in just 16 total games at the NBA level and spent the bulk of his time in the G-League. Despite being signed Thursday, the Heat are likely just trying to acquire his G-League rights and Purvis should be released at some point in the coming week in order to join Miami's affiliate.

Rodney Purvis: Waived by Celtics
Purvis was waived by the Celtics on Monday, Shams Charania of Yahoo! Sports reports.
Purvis has been on three different rosters over the last few weeks following a flurry of trades, but as expected, has now been released in order to open up a roster spot in Boston. He'll look to latch on with another organization for training camp in September, though there's no guarantee he ends up making a final roster. Purvis played in 16 games with Orlando as a rookie last season, averaging 6.0 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.1 assists across 18.1 minutes.

Purvis moved into the lineup Friday night and played 23 minutes, finishing with five points and two rebounds to go with one assist. Purvis agreed to a two-year contract with the Magic on Wednesday, Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports reports. The second season is non-guaranteed.
The 6-foot-4 undrafted rookie out of UConn has played his way into a contract after signing two consecutive ten-day contracts with Orlando. With the team, he's averaged 6.3 points in 13.9 minutes per game. Though those numbers don't jump off the page, he was impressive in the G-League, especially from beyond the arc (3.1 threes per game at 39.3 percent), so the team may be banking on him improving over the offseason.

Magic's Rodney Purvis: Posts six points in return to Magic
