  • Padres' Jose Iglesias: Filling in for injured Bogaerts

Iglesias will start at shortstop and bat eighth in Sunday's game against the Twins.

With Xander Bogaerts landing on the injured list Friday due to a non-displaced left foot fracture, Iglesias has gained some traction in the San Diego infield. The 35-year-old will pick up his fourth consecutive start Sunday after going 3-for-12 with an RBI and a run scored over the previous three contests.

  • Ketel Marte 2B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Serves as DH

Marte started at designated hitter and went 1-for-3 in Saturday's 6-1 win over the Dodgers.

Marte served as the DH for a second consecutive game, which could become a normal deployment over the final month of the season, per Alex Weiner of Arizona Sports. Manager Torey Lovullo indicated that Jordan Lawlar would stick at third base down the stretch while Blaze Alexander shifted into a super-utility player. That opens up the possibility of using Alexander at second base and reducing the wear and tear on Marte while maintaining his bat in the lineup as the DH. Additionally, utility infielder Ildemaro Vargas, who started at second base and homered Saturday, is also around to give Marte a break.

  • David Hamilton SS | BOS

Red Sox's David Hamilton: On bench against righty

Hamilton is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Pirates.

Though Hamilton has posted a 1.053 OPS in six games since being called up from Triple-A Worcester on Aug. 21, the Red Sox aren't yet ready to give him consistent playing time. He'll be on the bench for a second straight matchup with a right-handed starter (Mitch Keller), clearing the way for Romy Gonzalez to shift from first base to the keystone in Nathaniel Lowe's return from the paternity list.

  • Edouard Julien 2B | MIN

Twins' Edouard Julien: On bench for third straight

Julien is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Padres.

The Twins have now left Julien out of the lineup for three consecutive contests, which follows a stretch of four straight starts in which he went 2-for-13 with a double and three walks. Julien has produced a poor .545 OPS since getting called up from Triple-A St. Paul on Aug. 1 and may play second fiddle to Kody Clemens at first base in September.

  • Orioles' Jeremiah Jackson: Plates four runs in victory

Jackson went 2-for-5 with a home run, a double, two total runs and four total RBI in an 11-1 win over the Giants on Saturday.

Jackson plated Baltimore's first runs of the game with a two-run homer in the third inning and added a two-run double in the eighth. The rookie extended his hitting streak to 10 games, during which he's slashing .326/.356/.558 with his first two MLB homers, four doubles, 10 RBI and six runs. Jackson's hot bat has helped him hold onto an everyday spot in the Orioles' lineup -- he's started 10 straight games, manning either third base or right field.

  • Dylan Moore 2B | TEX

Rangers' Dylan Moore: Hits first homer with new team

Moore went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run in Saturday's 9-3 win over the Athletics.

Moore didn't start Saturday, but he came in off the bench as a pinch hitter. His blast came in his second at-bat, as he took Osvaldo Bido deep in the ninth inning. Moore is an option to provide coverage all around an ailing infield -- the Rangers are missing Marcus Semien (foot), Corey Seager (appendectomy) and Jake Burger (wrist) among their usual starters. Moore will likely get most of his starts versus left-handed pitchers, but his defensive versatility will make him a frequent late-game replacement. Between Texas and Seattle, he has a .199/.267/.378 slash line with 10 homers, 22 RBI, 30 runs scored and 12 stolen bases over 217 plate appearances.

  • Diamondbacks' Ildemaro Vargas: Boosts lead with homer

Vargas went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run in Saturday's 6-1 win over the Dodgers.

Vargas logged his first multi-hit effort since his Aug. 18 return from a foot injury. He's gone 5-for-23 with two extra-base hits and six RBI over his last eight contests, and his homer Saturday was just his second of the year. The infielder has added a .255/.269/.451 slash line with 10 RBI, six runs scored, two doubles, one triple and no stolen bases across 52 plate appearances. Vargas remains in a part-time role, though he has multiple paths into the lineup due to his defensive versatility.

  • Jordan Lawlar SS | ARI

Diamondbacks' Jordan Lawlar: Not in Saturday's lineup

Lawlar isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Dodgers.

Lawlar remains in search of his first hit in the majors this season through nine games and will move to the bench to begin Saturday's contest. Blaze Alexander will get the nod at third base with Ketel Marte serving as the designated hitter and Ildemaro Vargas manning second.

  • Angels' Christian Moore: Out of lineup Saturday

Moore isn't in the starting nine against Houston on Saturday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Moore has recently seen his playing time surge back up, as he came into Saturday having started four of the Angels' previous five games, going 4-for-15 with a home run during that span. However, he'll begin on the bench Saturday while Luis Rengifo starts at second base.

  • Royals' Jonathan India: Not starting Saturday

India is not in the starting lineup Saturday versus Detroit.

India had started in each of the Royals' past 12 games, batting a paltry .179 (7-for-39) with one home run and three RBI during that stretch. He'll get at least a partial day to reset Saturday while Michael Massey plays second base and Adam Frazier serves as the DH.
