  • Giants' Victor Bericoto: Beginning assignment Wednesday

Bericoto (oblique) will begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Sacramento on Wednesday, Justice delos Santos of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Bericoto has been on the shelf since July 10 due to a strained left oblique, but he has finally been given the green light to test his oblique in a game setting. He'll likely require a handful of tune-up games before returning from the injured list, putting him on track to return sometime in mid-August.

  • Nationals' Andrew Pinckney: Contract selected

The Nationals selected Pinckney's contract from Triple-A Rochester on Tuesday, Danielle Allentuck of The Washington Post reports.

The 23-year-old slugger be eligible to be reinstated Aug. 14, but it's worth noting that oblique injuries typically require lengthier absences. Andrew Pinckney was recalled from Triple-A Rochester in a corresponding move.

The Mets selected Pache's contract from Triple-A Syracuse on Tuesday.

Rockies' Mickey Moniak: Inks two-year extension

Moniak and the Rockies agreed to a two-year contract extension Tuesday.

According to Thomas Harding of MLB.com, the deal is worth $16.25 million and covers his final year of arbitration eligibility in 2027 and his first year of free-agent eligibility in 2028. Moniak signed with the Rockies just before Opening Day in 2025 after being cut loose by the Angels, and he's excelled at the plate for the Rockies with a .272/.310/.536 slash line and 42 homers in 210 games.

Phillies' Derek Hill: Belts go-ahead grand slam
