Giants' Jonah Cox: Activated and optioned
The Giants activated Cox (oblique) from the 10-day injured list and optioned him to Triple-A Sacramento.
Cox has recovered from an oblique strain that's kept him out for nearly a month, but he'll remain in Sacramento where he had been on a rehab assignment. The speedy outfielder has posted a .769 OPS with one homer and four steals in 24 major-league contests in 2026.

Derek Hill CF | PHI
Phillies' Derek Hill: Belts go-ahead grand slam
Hill went 1-for-3 with a grand slam in Monday's 6-3 win over Washington.
Hill's first hit since July 20 was a heroic one, giving the Phillies a 4-3 lead in the seventh inning Monday. Christian Franklin LF | BAL
Orioles' Christian Franklin: Slated for promotion

Acquired from the Nationals via trade Monday, Franklin will report directly to the major-league club. He's slashed .249/.375/.360 with six home runs, 17 stolen bases and a 65:107 BB:K over 93 games at the Triple-A level in 2026. Franklin can handle all three outfield spots and is likely to operate in a reserve role. He'll be making his big-league debut when he gets into a game.

Giants' Drew Gilbert: Scores in win
Gilbert went 1-for-4 with a run scored in Monday's 5-1 win over the Rangers.
Gilbert singled in the second inning before coming around to score on a sacrifice fly. He's been a fairly consistent part of the Giants' lineup for a majority of the season and is batting .250 with six runs scored and an RBI in 46 plate appearances since the All-Star break. Daylen Lile LF | WAS
Nationals' Daylen Lile: Clubs 14th homer
Lile went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Monday's loss to the Phillies.
The 23-year-old outfielder took Aaron Nola deep in the second inning, giving the Nationals a 3-0 lead that once again evaporated. Hector Rodriguez RF | CIN
Reds' Hector Rodriguez: Called up from Louisville
The Reds recalled Rodriguez from Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday.
After being added to the Reds' 40-man roster over the winter, Rodriguez has continued to impress with his slugging at Louisville this season. The 22-year-old has slashed .274/.347/.533 with 27 home runs -- second in the International League -- and six stolen bases across 104 games at Triple-A. With the Reds dealing away Nathaniel Lowe prior to Monday's deadline, the team has an opening in its everyday lineup, and the left-handed-hitting Rodriguez appears primed to get a look in the strong side of a platoon at designated hitter or at either corner-outfield spot.

Myles Straw LF | TOR
Blue Jays' Myles Straw: Gets start in center against righty
Straw went 2-for-3 with a double and a stolen base in Monday's 3-1 win over the Astros.
With Daulton Varsho having swapped clubhouses at the trade deadline, the Blue Jays gave the right-handed-hitting Straw the start in center field in their first game following the trade, even with right-hander Cristian Javier on the mound for the Astros. Nathan Lukes, who has also seen action in center this season and bats from the left side, received the start in right field instead. While the Jays will likely continue to mix and match in their outfield, Straw has the best defensive profile of all their current center-field options, although his offensive contributions are lacking. Through 100 games in 2026, the 31-year-old has managed a .223/.279/.324 slash line with three home runs, seven steals, 17 RBI and 29 runs.

Diamondbacks' Lourdes Gurriel: Follow-up appointment Wednesday
Gurriel (adductor) hopes to gain clearance to increase baseball activities at a follow-up appointment Wednesday, Jack Sommers of SI.com reports.
Gurriel landed on the 10-day injured list just after the All-Star break with a strained right adductor. He's been doing light activities, but a timetable for his return to action will not become apparent until he ramps things up. With Jordan Lawlar (hamstring) likely to beat Gurriel back from the IL and Lars Nootbaar being acquired via trade, it's unclear that Gurriel's role will look like upon his return.

Tommy Troy LF | ARI
Diamondbacks' Tommy Troy: Set to play in extended spring
Troy (shoulder) is likely to participate in extended spring training games this week, Jack Sommers of SI.com reports.
If that goes well, Troy should be cleared for a formal rehab assignment soon. The 24-year-old has been sidelined since mid-July as he battles his way back from a sprained AC joint in his right shoulder. Troy should be back with the Diamondbacks before the end of August if all goes well.
