  • Jordan Lawlar CF | ARI

Diamondbacks' Jordan Lawlar: Kicking off rehab assignment

Lawlar (hamstring) will begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Amarillo on Tuesday, Jack Sommers of SI.com reports.

Lawlar will play back-to-back rehab games Tuesday and Wednesday before the Diamondbacks determine the next steps for the outfielder. Considering Lawlar has been sidelined since late June with a strained right hamstring, he is likely to require a handful of rehab contests before being reinstated.

  • Tim Tawa 1B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Tim Tawa: Launches three-run homer in win

Tawa went 3-for-4 with a three-run home run and an additional run scored in Monday's 5-1 win over San Diego.

Tawa turned on an inside sinker from Michael King and launched it into the left-field seats to give Arizona a 3-0 lead in the fourth inning. The utility man had gone 1-for-23 (.043) over his previous seven games before Monday's standout performance. On the year, Tawa is hitting .224/.280/.385 with five homers, 24 RBI, 17 runs and two stolen bases across 56 contests.

  • Mickey Moniak LF | COL

Rockies' Mickey Moniak: Goes yard in Monday's loss

Moniak went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a triple, an additional RBI and an additional run scored in Monday's 13-9 loss to the Rays.

Moniak unloaded on an elevated fastball from Michael Grove, sending it 447 feet into the second deck in right field for a solo homer in the eighth inning. The 28-year-old has been a constant threat at the plate in 2026, slashing .277/.318/.565 with 18 homers, 49 RBI, 39 runs and a stolen base across 75 games. With the Rockies opting to hold onto Moniak beyond Monday's trade deadline, the two sides have reportedly agreed to a two-year extension that is expected to be finalized Tuesday, per Thomas Harding of MLB.com.

  • Cody Bellinger LF | NYY

Yankees' Cody Bellinger: Running, hitting and throwing

Bellinger (hamstring) has been doing some outdoor running while also hitting and throwing, per MLB.com.

Bellinger seems to be making progress from the left hamstring strain he suffered in late July. Still, the veteran outfielder isn't expected to be activated from the IL until late August or early September. The Yankees acquired Heliot Ramos in a trade with San Francisco on Monday, providing some depth in the outfield with Bellinger and Aaron Judge (ribs) both currently sidelined.

  • Aaron Judge RF | NYY

Yankees' Aaron Judge: NY remains optimistic about return

Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said Monday that the team is "still very optimistic" that Judge (ribs) will return this season, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Cashman explained that "there's a very high likelihood" Judge will be able to recover from the fracture in his right ribs in time to play again this season but acknowledged that "there's challenges with all that too." Naturally, Judge's return could be impacted by New York's place in the standings, and the team currently sits 3.5 games out of first place in the AL East but a comfortable six games up for a wild-card spot. Judge hasn't played since May 31, and he's yet to resume baseball activities, so despite Cashman's optimism, the slugger doesn't appear anywhere close to rejoining the big-league club.

  • Samad Taylor LF | SD

Padres' Samad Taylor: Swinging bat in Arizona

Taylor (oblique) has been taking light swings and rehabbing at the Padres' spring complex in Arizona, MLB.com reports.

Taylor has been sidelined since early July due to a right oblique strain. His timeline for a return remains unclear, though he'll likely need a minor-league rehab assignment before being activated due to the length of his absence from game action. Taylor had been providing a spark for San Diego prior to getting hurt, slashing .330/.410/.398 with one home run, 11 RBI, 14 runs and six stolen bases over 26 contests.

  • Dodgers' Teoscar Hernandez: Belts ball out of Wrigley

Hernandez went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's loss to the Cubs.

Hernandez launched an impressive long ball in the sixth inning, crushing a 443-foot blast to left-center field that completely cleared the bleachers. However, that proved to be the final run the Dodgers scored in their fourth straight loss. Hernandez has had a pretty quiet campaign with just 11 homers through 78 games, but he's been heating up in the power department of late. Over his past five contests, the veteran slugger has belted three homers while batting .421 (8-for-19) and collecting four RBI.

  • Jung Hoo Lee RF | SF

Giants' Jung Hoo Lee: Posts second career multi-HR game

Lee went 3-for-4 with two home runs, three total RBI and a stolen base in a 5-1 win against the Rangers on Monday.

The night started inauspiciously for Lee when he struck out in the first inning. It was all roses for him from there, however, as he hit a solo homer in the third inning, singled and stole a base in the fifth, and cranked another solo homer in the eighth. It was the second multi-homer game of Lee's MLB career, with the other coming versus the Yankees on April 13 last year. He's been swinging a hot bat of late, going 12-for-31 (.387 batting average) with three homers, four doubles, nine RBI and two stolen bases over his past eight contests.

  • Yankees' Jasson Dominguez: Demoted to minors

The Yankees optioned Dominguez to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre following Monday's 13-7 loss to the Cardinals.

Dominguez is expected to give up his spot on the 26-man active roster and in the everyday lineup to outfielder Heliot Ramos, whom the Yankees acquired in a trade with the Giants on Monday. Since making his return from the injured list June 13 after recovering from an AC joint sprain in his left shoulder, Dominguez slashed just .235/.274/.382 with five home runs, seven steals, 10 RBI and 18 runs in 44 games.

  • James Wood RF | WAS

Nationals' James Wood: Getting MRI tomorrow

Wood hurt his left side during Monday's matchup against the Phillies and will undergo an MRI Tuesday, Mark Zuckerman of NatsJournal.com reports.

On his last swing, Wood hurt his left side in the sixth inning. The 23-year-old tried to take a couple of swings, but didn't feel comfortable playing the rest of the game. Dylan Crews replaced Wood as a defensive substitution in the bottom of the eighth inning.
