Andres Gimenez SS | TOR
Blue Jays' Andres Gimenez: Back in action Tuesday
Gimenez (hamstring) is starting at shortstop and batting seventh Tuesday against the Royals.
Gimenez sat out the three-game series versus the Yankees over the weekend, but he's good to go for Tuesday's series opener against the Royals. The 28-year-old has been swinging the bat well across his past 14 contests with a .308/.351/.423 slash line, six steals. eight RBI and five runs.

J.P. Crawford SS | SEA
Mariners' J.P. Crawford: Returns from injured list
The Mariners activated Crawford (wrist) from the 10-day injured list Tuesday.
Crawford has been shelved for all of August with left wrist inflammation, but he's been cleared to return after going 4-for-11 with one home run in three rehab games with Triple-A Tacoma. With Colt Emerson slated for season-ending wrist surgery Wednesday, Crawford is poised to serve as the Mariners' regular shortstop the rest of the way.

Jacob Wilson SS | ATH
Athletics' Jacob Wilson: Shifts to 60-day IL
The Athletics transferred Wilson (shoulder) to the 60-day injured list Tuesday.
The 24-year-old was already ruled out for the season after being placed on the 10-day IL last week due to lingering soreness stemming from a separated shoulder, so this is just a procedural move to free up a roster spot for waiver-claim Chris Roycroft. Wilson finished the season with an underwhelming .266/.298/.388 slash line, seven homers, four steals, 37 RBI and 37 runs in 80 games.

Kaelen Culpepper SS | MIN
Twins' Kaelen Culpepper: Logs four hits in win
Culpepper went 4-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored in Monday's 9-6 win over the Athletics.
Culpepper sprayed a quartet of singles, marking the first four-hit performance of his young career. The 23-year-old has taken over as the primary shortstop since debuting Aug. 7 and has made a strong impression at the plate. Through 55 plate appearances, Culpepper is slashing .340/.382/.480 with two homers, a double, four RBI and six runs scored.

Corey Seager SS | TEX
Rangers' Corey Seager: Contributes three RBI in win
Seager went 3-for-4 with two doubles, three RBI, a run scored and a walk during Monday's 11-2 win over the White Sox.
With the three base knocks Monday, Seager has now recorded multi-hit performances in eight of his last nine games. The 32-year-old helped out early, lining a two-run double to extend the lead to three. He later added on some insurance, smacking an RBI double to center field. Over his last 15 games, Seager is slashing .357/.419/.607 with three homers and eight RBI in 61 plate appearances.

Trevor Story SS | BOS
Red Sox's Trevor Story: Continuing rehab assignment Tuesday
Story (sports hernia) will continue his rehab assignment Tuesday at Triple-A Worcester, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.
Story had been viewed as candidate to return from the 60-day injured list Monday, but he didn't join the Red Sox for the start of their road trip and looks like he'll remain out for all three games of the team's series in Miami to begin the week. If all goes well during Tuesday's rehab contest, Story -- who has been on the shelf since May 16 -- could be activated at some point during the Red Sox's weekend series in New York versus the Yankees. Since kicking off his rehab assignment with Worcester on Aug. 16, Story has gone 4-for-21 with a 0:5 BB:K while playing exclusively in the field at shortstop.

Caleb Bonemer SS | CHW
White Sox's Caleb Bonemer: Will be used in center field this week
Bonemer will get some starts in center field later this week with Double-A Birmingham, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.
To this point in his pro career, Bonemer has played only shortstop and third base. However, with Colson Montgomery and Miguel Vargas holding down the left side of the infield for the White Sox, Bonemer will get some exposure to the outfield. The 20-year-old has slashed .249/.381/.556 with 33 home runs and 16 stolen bases between Birmingham and High-A Winston-Salem this season.

Colt Emerson SS | SEA
Mariners' Colt Emerson: Set for season-ending wrist surgery
Mariners general manager Justin Hollander said that Emerson will undergo season-ending left wrist surgery Wednesday, Adam Jude of The Seattle Times reports.
The exact nature of the procedure isn't clear, but Emerson is expected to be 100 percent recovered in time for spring training. The rookie infielder finishes his season having slashed .190/.246/.335 with eight home runs, three stolen bases and a 15:83 BB:K over 69 games. Despite the lackluster first stint in the big leagues, Emerson is the odds-on favorite to open the 2027 campaign as the Mariners' starting shortstop.

J.P. Crawford SS | SEA
Mariners' J.P. Crawford: Could be activated Tuesday
Crawford (wrist) has rejoined the Mariners in Seattle and could be activated from the 10-day injured list as soon as Tuesday, Adam Jude of The Seattle Times reports.
Crawford has been out for all of August due to left wrist inflammation, but he's nearly ready to roll after going 4-for-11 with one home run in three rehab games with Triple-A Tacoma. With Colt Emerson (wrist) and Brendan Donovan (concussion) shelved, Crawford should see plenty of playing time on the left side of the Mariners' infield, once he's activated.
