Mets' Daniel Duarte: Shelved by hamstring strain
The Mets placed Duarte on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with a left hamstring strain.
The injury ends what has been a terrific season out of the Mets' bullpen, as Duarte holds a 2.12 ERA, 0.81 WHIP and 30:7 K:BB over 29.2 innings. He is under team control for several more years and has set himself up well to be part of the Mets' bullpen in 2027.

Mets' Xzavion Curry: Summoned for spot start
The Mets recalled Curry from Triple-A Syracuse and will have him start Wednesday's game against the Orioles.
He'll enter the rotation as a replacement for the injured Robert Stock (fingers). All of the right-hander's eight outings for the Mets to this point have come in relief, but 13 of Curry's 15 appearances at Syracuse have been starts. He holds a 3.44 ERA and 12:8 K:BB over 18.1 frames with the big club.

Mets' Robert Stock: Lands on 15-day IL
The Mets placed Stock on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with numbness in his fingers.
Stock had been slated to start Wednesday's game versus the Orioles, but instead his season is over. The 36-year-old will finish the season with a 5.93 ERA and 29:15 K:BB over 30.1 innings covering seven starts and one relief appearance for the Mets. Xzavion Curry will start Wednesday in Stock's place.

Dodgers' Teoscar Hernandez: Goes deep again Tuesday
Hernandez went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk in Tuesday's 4-0 victory over the Reds.
Hernandez gave Los Angeles a 3-0 lead with his two-run blast to left field in the third inning. It was his second long ball in as many days and his third over his past seven games. Hernandez has reached base safely in 13 of his past 14 contests, slashing a robust .417/.517/.771 with four home runs, nine runs, 18 RBI and three stolen bases over that stretch. He had a quiet .706 OPS during the first half of the campaign, but since the All-Star break his OPS is at .842 across 51 games.

Diamondbacks' Ryne Nelson: Reinstated to active roster
The Diamondbacks activated Nelson (elbow) from the 60-day injured list Wednesday, John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports 98.7 FM reports.
Nelson was sidelined for the past three months with a right elbow strain, but he's finally been cleared to return after yielding two runs with a 4:0 K:BB over 2.2 innings in two rehab outings with Triple-A Reno. The 28-year-old will be utilized in a relief role down the stretch for the Diamondbacks.

Cardinals' Ivan Herrera: Getting breather amid mini slump
Herrera is not in the lineup for Wednesday's contest versus the Giants.
It's the first day off since July 23 for Herrera, who is hitless over his last five games. Leo Bernal will slot in at designated hitter, and Pedro Pages is getting a start at catcher while Herrera gets a day to regroup.

Cardinals' JJ Wetherholt: Activated from 10-day IL
The Cardinals activated Wetherholt (wrist) from the 10-day injured list Wednesday.
Wetherholt was scheduled to go through a full pregame workout Tuesday, and he came out of it with no concerns, clearing the way for his return. He's starting at second base and batting leadoff Wednesday versus the Giants. The rookie infielder has been sidelined since late August with right wrist tendinitis. Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol said that Wetherholt will play just six innings Wednesday as he eases back into a full-time role, John Denton of Roundtable.io reports.
