Beal (leg) has been diagnosed with "the beginnings of a stress reaction in his lower right fibula" and will miss the next two weeks before being re-evaluated, the Wizards announced Saturday.
Beal had an MRI on his leg Friday after he was scratched from the lineup shortly before the Wizards' matchup against the Pelicans, which revealed the beginning of a stress reaction. This is troubling news for a player with a history of stress-related injuries in that same part of his right leg, and he will miss at least the next two weeks. Garrett Temple drew the start at shooting guard in Beal's absence Friday and played 28 minutes, but it's worth noting that Gary Neal also got 26 minutes of run off the bench.
