Williams will start in place of Greg Newsome (calf) at Minnesota on Sunday, Scott Petrak of BrownsZone.com reports.

Williams has played only 16 defensive snaps across the first three games of the season but will now be thrust into a starting role. The 2019 second-round pick started 12 games as a rookie but missed the entirety of 2020 due to a nerve issue in his shoulder. Newsome won't be placed on injured reserve, so Williams' time as a starter should be temporary.
