Howard is expected to be added to the Eagles' roster prior to Sunday's game against the Lions, Reuben Frank of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.

Howard is a more prototypical early-down back than Boston Scott or Kenneth Gainwell, and the 26-year-old also flashed enough in the preseason that many thought he would make the roster out of camp. While the Eagles are favored to win against the Lions and therefore should present a favorable game-script for Howard should he be elevated, even a healthy Miles Sanders has had double-digit carries in a game just three times this season and no touchdowns to show for it, so expectations should remain tempered.
