The Cardinals released Phillips (knee) on Wednesday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.

Phillips inked a three-year, $30 million contract with Arizona ahead of the 2020 campaign, but he was limited to nine games in each of the past two seasons and totaled only five sacks. The 29-year-old will likely need to settle for a more modest contract in free agency this time around.
