Patriots' Rhamondre Stevenson: Five snaps in Week 1

In his regular-season debut, Stevenson logged five of a possible 75 snaps on offense in Sunday's 17-16 loss to the Dolphins, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.
Stevenson recorded just one carry for two yards and one catch for nine yards in the contest, while also losing a fumble. Meanwhile, top back Damien Harris logged 40 snaps and ran 23 times for 100 yards and caught two passes for 17 yards, with a fumble of his own. For his part, change-of-pace back James White (28 snaps) carried four times for 12 yards and hauled in six of his seven targets for 49 yards. For now, Stevenson's complementary role is evolving, and Reiss suggests that come Week 2, it's possible that J.J. Taylor, who was a healthy scratch Sunday, could sub in for Stevenson versus the Jets. In time, it's not hard to imagine Stevenson's early-down/short-yardage role in the offense increasing, but for now he's clearly behind Harris and White in the team's RB pecking order.
