Wedgewood made 44 saves in a 4-3 shootout win over the Hurricanes on Thursday.
Dallas was badly outplayed by Carolina all night long. Wedgewood was a difference maker in the first when he made 18 saves. And then he came up huge in the final 1:28 of overtime when he stopped Sebastian Aho and Andrei Svechnikov on 2-on-1 chances. Nice Stars debut for the journeyman.
