  • Maple Leafs' Dennis Hildeby: Unlucky loss to Sharks

Hildeby made 29 saves in a 3-2 overtime loss to San Jose on Thursday.

Hildeby made several great saves, including stoning Ty Dellandrea on a first period penalty shot to keep the game scoreless. Hildeby did his best in the third when the Sharks outshot the Maple Leafs 11-5, but John Klingberg notched the tying goal at 18:35 with the extra attacker on the ice. Hildeby is 1-0-2 in three starts over the last six days, including one shutout win and just four total goals allowed.

  • Jake Allen G | NJ

Devils' Jake Allen: Takes loss in relief

Allen made 23 saves in relief during Thursday's 8-4 loss to Tampa Bay. He allowed five goals.

The Devils have struggled mightily lately, losing six of their past seven games and five consecutive matchups at home. Allen is 1-5-0 in his last five starts. The win was by shutout, but three of those losses had at least five goals go past him. Allen and Jacob Markstrom will be risky options in New Jersey's net until they regain their bearings.

  • Devils' Jacob Markstrom: Gets hook after three quick goals

Markstrom allowed three goals on seven shots Thursday against Tampa Bay before being replaced by Jake Allen before the mid-point of the first period. The Lightning won 8-4.

He was visibly frustrated after the game. "It is a step back," Markstrom said. "We've got to be honest with ourselves...Got to look yourself in the mirror and got to be better. What did I play? Five minutes today? That's not what I want to do." Markstrom is 1-3-0 with 16 goals allowed in his last five starts.

  • Eric Comrie G | WPG

Jets' Eric Comrie: Can't end skid Thursday

Comrie stopped 18 of 23 shots in Thursday's 6-3 loss to the Bruins. The sixth goal was an empty-netter.

The Bruins rattled off three goals in a span of 2:44 during the first period, and the Jets never really recovered from it. Comrie has lost three consecutive games, and this was arguably one of his worst performances of the year. He's now at a 6-8-1 record with a 3.30 GAA and an .886 save percentage through 15 starts. With 11 starts over the last 12 games, including seven in a row, fatigue may be in play at this point. Domenic DiVincentiis is awaiting his NHL debut whenever the Jets want to give Comrie a rest, though neither goalie would be a particularly good fantasy play for Saturday's game versus the Capitals.

  • Bruins' Joonas Korpisalo: Collects win over Jets

Korpisalo stopped 26 of 29 shots in Thursday's 6-3 win over the Jets.

Korpisalo picked up his second win in a row with this effort, though the Bruins' offense was the leading factor in their success. The 31-year-old netminder has allowed at least three goals in four of his last six outings. He's at a 6-6-0 record with a 3.35 GAA and an .888 save percentage over 13 appearances this season. Jeremy Swayman is likely to get the nod Sunday in Minnesota to close out the Bruins' road trip.

  • Lightning's Jonas Johansson: Second straight win

Johansson made 33 saves in an 8-4 win over New Jersey on Thursday.

Johansson and the Bolts never trailed Thursday. It was his second straight win after a three-game losing skid. Johansson is now 7-5-0 with a 2.65 GAA and .905 save percentage in 12 starts this season, and he will continue to guard the blue paint until Andrei Vasilevskiy (undisclosed) returns.

  • Islanders' David Rittich: Solid performance in win

Rittich turned aside 31 of 33 shots on net in Thursday's 5-2 win over the Ducks.

Rittich tended a clean first 20 minutes before he allowed one goal in each of the final two periods. With the win, he is up to a 7-3-1 record with a 2.59 GAA and a .905 save percentage through 11 outings this season. The 33-year-old goalie is playing the backup role better than most second options across the league, as he ranks among the top 25 in save percentage for netminders with double-digit appearances this year. While his ceiling in fantasy is capped by Ilya Sorokin's elite play to receive the bulk of the starts, Rittich is currently one of the best spot start options for fantasy managers in need of a goalie in a pinch. Keep an eye on Rittich's starting status moving forward.

  • Ville Husso G | ANA

Ducks' Ville Husso: Surrenders five goals Thursday

Husso stopped 32 of 37 shots on goal in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Islanders.

Husso allowed three goals in the first period alone, which would be too steep a deficit for Anaheim's offense to overcome before he surrendered two more tallies in the third. With the loss, the 30-year-old netminder now has a 5-3-0 record with a 3.16 GAA and an .888 save percentage through eight appearances this season. With starting netminder Lukas Dostal (upper-body) potentially near a return, Husso would be ushered to the backup role. Husso has been inconsistent between the pipes thus far, making him tough to trust in all fantasy formats moving forward. If Dostal remains sidelined, Anaheim would likely turn to Husso for the team's game Saturday in New Jersey.

  • Avalanche's Scott Wedgewood: Clear for backup duties

Wedgewood (back) will serve as the backup goalie in Thursday's game versus the Panthers, per the NHL media site.

Wedgewood was dealing with a tight back after getting hit during Tuesday's shootout versus the Predators. He was initially pulled by the concussion spotter but was able to clear protocol with no issues. Wedgewood will be on the bench Thursday but should be able to start as soon as Saturday's game versus the Predators.

  • Cam Talbot G | DET

Red Wings' Cam Talbot: Tending twine in Edmonton

Talbot will start on the road versus the Oilers on Thursday, Michael Russo of The Athletic reports.

Talbot is 0-2-2 with 16 goals allowed over his last four games. That skid has allowed John Gibson to claim a larger share of playing time recently. Talbot will have a tough time ending his skid against the Oilers, who have 18 goals over their last three games.
