The Mets' catching situation has become something of a mess since John Buck has cooled from his hot start, and it could lead to Anthony Recker getting more playing time. Manager Terry Collins hinted Wednesday that he could be willing to split time more equitably between his two backstops.
"In today's case, Buck's catching Matt Harvey. I'm not breaking that up," Collins said. "Tomorrow, I haven't decided who's catching tomorrow yet."
Recker went 2 for 4 with a home run and two RBI Tuesday, but is hitting just .182 overall on the season. Buck is hitting just .170 since May 5, after driving in 25 runs in the first month of the season.
