A really scary sight in Oakland, as A's starter Brandon McCarthy left Wednesday's game after being hit in the back of the head by a line drive from Los Angeles' Erick Aybar.

Here's the good news:

Watch it here:

McCarthy did walk off the field under his own power, but he was immediately replaced by Travis Blackley with two outs in the fourth. A's third baseman Josh Donaldson fielded the ball and retired Aybar at first.

McCarthy, 29, has two stints on the disabled list this season with a shoulder injury. He entered Wednesday's game with an 8-5 record and a 3.10 ERA. He had allowed three runs on five hits in 3 2/3 innings on Wednesday.
