Milwaukee Brewers: Sellers

Why: The Brewers are 38-43 and in fourth place in the NL Central. While they are only seven games back, the three teams ahead of them all look like legitimate contenders.

Who can they deal: Zack Greinke will be one of the most coveted pieces on the market. His contract is up at the end of the season and the Brewers are unlikely to re-sign him. He could be worth a few impact prospects. The Braves and Rangers are reportedly interested in Greinke.

The team could also deal Shaun Marcum, who is also in the last year of his contract. The 30-year-old pitcher has been effective once again, with a 3.39 ERA.

Who they should keep: NL MVP Ryan Braun is signed through the 2020 season, and will be the face of the franchise for years. Yovani Gallardo should also stick around, as he’s signed through 2014. Jonathan Lucroy was on his way to a breakout season before breaking his hand. Rickie Weeks has been atrocious this year, but he’s signed through 2014, and trading him would bring back little. Corey Hart also appears to be safe.

Verdict: The Brewers still have some key players signed through the next few seasons. They aren’t contending this year, but should add some pieces so they can make a run before losing Hart, Weeks and Gallardo in the coming seasons.
