Mets third baseman David Wright and second baseman Daniel Murphy were ejected by home plate umpire Toby Basner in the seventh inning against the Angels Sunday for arguing balls and strikes.

Omar Quintanilla took over second base for Murphy while Josh Satin shifted to third for Wright. This was Murphy's first career ejection while Wright has been tossed four times already in his career.

Wright finished 1 for 3 with an RBI single in the opening frame, raising his batting average to .229 on the year. Murphy struck out once and went 0 for 3, lowering his batting average to .256 over his first 46 at-bats. He's been held without a hit over his last 10 at-bats.
