In his latest piece at ESPN.com, Jayson Stark gives some updates on the most recent trade rumors.

  • Stark lists 10 pitchers who might get traded before the deadline. The most likely to go are Ryan Dempster, Matt Garza and Francisco Liriano. You can add the Cardinals to the list of teams looking at Dempster, tweeted CBSSports.com’s Jon Heyman.
  • If the Marlins are going to be sellers, Stark would include Anibal Sanchez to that list.
  • Josh Johnson is rumored to be available, but teams don’t think the Marlins will deal him in the first year of their new ballpark.
  • Brandon McCarthy is available, but teams are scared off by his injury history.
  • With Jayson Werth returning in a few weeks, the Nationals are not shopping for a center fielder. The Nationals will use an outfield comprised of Michael Morse, Bryce Harper and Werth, once he is healthy.
  • Rays pitcher Wade Davis is drawing a lot of interest. Davis has started striking out more than a batter per inning since he moved to the bullpen.
  • The Rockies would have to be “bowled over” by an offer if they’re going to deal Matt Belisle, Rafael Betancourt or Matt Reynolds. Marco Scutaro and Jason Giambi are available.
