Yankees pitcher Michael Pineda is scheduled to throw three innings in a simulated game in Tampa on Tuesday, according to the Journal News on Monday.

Pineda is expected to get stretched out in the minors before rejoining the team. Girardi is not concerned about the amount of reps he'll need before he is reinstated.

"As long as he feels good and is throwing the ball well, there'd be no reason not to bring him back," Girardi said. "It's the same as spring training. You build them up, when they're ready to go, you send them."
