Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts was removed from Thursday's game against the Rangers due to a left forearm contusion, the team announced, per CSNNE.com.

Bogaerts was hit by a pitch in the second inning but initially stayed in the game. He played a few innings in the field before being removed for a pinch-hitter in the fourth. He has hit .268/.320/.376 with two home runs, 15 RBI and two stolen bases in 157 at-bats.
