Relief pitcher Francisco Rodriguez has been charged with domestic abuse, a misdemeanor, stemming from his September arrest, reports Sussex (Wisc.) Patch.com. The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel is also reporting the domestic abuse battery charge. Patch.com reports the charge was amended from battery-domestic abuse to disorderly conduct-domestic abuse.

According to the police report, via Patch.com, police found Rodriguez's fiancee, a 23-year-old female, inside a closet and crying. She told the police he struck her on the head and her nose began to bleed immediately due to a history of physical violence against her.

She said she reached for a sweatshirt to stop the bleeding, and Rodriguez then grabbed her by the hair and threw her down to the ground, where he then allegedly repeatedly kicked her.

Later, police interviewed Rodriguez's maid, and she told them that this kind of behavior was "normal and known" for Rodriguez.

As for Rodriguez, he said she "pushed me and I pushed her back and we forced into each other." As for the part about him throwing her to the ground, he said this: "When she was coming at me, I grabbed her by the hair and then was pushing her aside."

Then, two days later, the police again interviewed the alleged victim, and this happened, via Patch.com:

The woman then told the deputy the entire altercation was her fault because she started the argument and pushed Rodriguez first. She said she fell down on her own, which re-aggravated a pre-existing wrist injury. She then denied Rodriguez had touched or harmed her in any way.

According to the report, the woman said she took full responsibility for "disrespecting" Rodriguez, and said she only called 911 to try and calm things down and then gave a vague answer when asked about Rodriguez hiding the phones. When asked why she called 911 from the closet, the woman said she was simply in that room with her baby, but when deputies had arrived at the home, the baby was in a different room.

The victim told deputies her relationship with Rodriguez is over and she wants to go back to her home country. She said she is dependent on Rodriguez for money because she has no friends or family in the country, regretted calling 911 and didn't want to pursue the matter further.

Rodriguez's initial court date is reportedly set for Nov. 12.

Rodriguez was also arrested in 2010 for allegedly assaulting the father of his girlfriend after a Mets loss.

Rodriguez, 30, had a 4.38 ERA in 78 appearances for the Brewers this season. He is now a free agent.
