Giants pitcher Sergio Romo picked up his first save of the season in his team's 9-8 win over the Diamondbacks Monday, giving up a leadoff home run but giving up just one earned run on two hits while striking out one.
The Diamondbacks opened the ninth inning with a home run and a single but couldn't scrape together a second run to tie the game. Romo gave up just five home runs last season while posting a 2.54 ERA and recording 38 saves in his first full-time shot at the closing job.
