  • Jamie Romak: Sold to KBO organization

Romak was acquired by the SK Wyverns of the Korean Baseball Organization in exchange for cash Saturday, Dennis Lin of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Romak was mashing with Triple-A El Paso, posting a 1.192 OPS in 25 games with the Chihuahuas, and it seems the Padres opted to sell high on the 31-year-old. No word yet on how long he'll spend in Korea, but there's a good chance he'll get a decent amount of playing time in the hitter-friendly environment.

  • Padres' Jamie Romak: Lands on inactive list

Romak was placed on the temporary inactive list Thursday.

Romak was off to an incredible start with Triple-A El Paso, slashing .347/.392/.800 with 11 homers and 25 RBI through 25 games before landing on the inactive list. It's unclear how long he will be away, though he will be out for a minimum of three games.

  • Padres' Jamie Romak: Signs minor league deal with Padres

Romak has signed a minor league contract with the Padres, Matt Eddy of Baseball America reports.

He didn't improve his stock this past season in Japan and was likely signed merely for organizational depth. Romak does own an .835 OPS in parts of four seasons at the Triple-A level, but he played in the favorable hitting environments of the Pacific Coast League. The 31-year-old has logged just 39 plate appearances at the major league level.
