Braves' Ryan Casteel: Bound for minor-league camp
Atlanta reassigned Casteel to minor-league camp Monday.
Casteel has been in the Atlanta organization for the last two years, and hit 17 homers with a .784 OPS for Triple-A Gwinnett in 2022. He'll all but assuredly be splitting reps with Joe Hudson in the International League again this summer.

Rockies' Ryan Casteel: Hits .083 in spring training
Casteel managed a hit in just two of his 24 at-bats this spring and also struck out eight times for the Rockies.
Casteel played in 19 of the Rockies' spring training games but managed a slash line of just .083/.154/.083. This was rather surprising, considering Casteel was a .300 hitter for Triple-A Albuquerque last season. He continues to be a major strikeout candidate which seems to be the main thing holding him back from moving up in the Rockies' organization.

Rockies' Ryan Casteel: Receives invitation to spring training
Casteel received an invitation to spring training Thursday.
Casteel was fairly successful at the Triple-A level last season, hitting .292 despite striking out nearly 25 percent of the time. He could be knocking on the door of the majors soon, but he may have to wait with the catcher pecking order in the majors pretty well set already.
