  • White Sox's Norge Vera: Cleared to return

Vera (back) has been reinstated from the 60-day injured list, per the MiLB's transactions log.

Vera missed time due to a back injury suffered in May, and he's since been cleared to return to High-A Winston-Salem. The 23-year-old has appeared in two contests this month, allowing eight runs (seven earned) on five hits, seven walks and five strikeouts across 3.2 frames.

  • White Sox's Norge Vera: Rehabbing in Arizona

Vera (back) is rehabbing at the White Sox's complex in Arizona, Baseball America reports.

Vera was placed on the injured list by High-A Winston Salem in early May. There's still no timetable for his return, and he's been limited to only two appearances and 1.1 innings to this point in the campaign.

  • White Sox's Norge Vera: Lands on High-A injured list

High-A Winston-Salem placed Vera on its 7-day injured list April 22 with an unspecified injury.

Vera walked six batters in 1.1 innings over two abbreviated starts with Winston-Salem before heading to the IL. The White Sox organization hasn't provided an update on the nature of Vera's injury or a timeline for his return to game action.

  • White Sox's Norge Vera: Bumped up to High-A

Vera had an abbreviated start in his High-A debut Aug. 14 as he works his way back from shoulder stiffness, White Sox Daily reports.

Chicago's top pitching prospect had a two-week break in between his final start at Single-A and his first start at High-A. He did not allow a baserunner and struck out two over two innings in his debut for Winston-Salem. On the season, the hard-throwing 22-year-old has a 1.73 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 37 strikeouts through 26 innings between both levels.

  • White Sox's Norge Vera: Excellent in season debut

Vera (lat) made his season debut for Single-A Kannapolis on Thursday, giving up two hits and one walk while striking out three in 2.2 scoreless innings.

According to White Sox Daily, Vera was sitting at 94-95 mph with his fastball and touched 98 mph. As a former seven-figure international signee with big stuff, Vera could rise up prospect rankings quickly if he can build off this successful debut.

  • White Sox's Norge Vera: Tending to lat strain

White Sox assistant general manager Chris Getz said Tuesday that Vera has been behind the organization's other pitchers in minor-league camp this spring due to a Grade 1 right lat strain, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.

On a positive note, Vera hasn't been shut down by the injury, but because he'll need additional ramp-up time, he may face limitations with his pitch count when the minor-league season begins in early April. After signing for $1.5 million last January as an amateur free agent out of Cuba, the 21-year-old right-hander is expected to begin his professional career in 2022 with one of the White Sox's lower-level affiliates.
