  • Brewers' Freddy Peralta: Tagged for four runs in loss

Peralta (6-5) took the loss Friday against Washington, allowing four runs on 10 hits and no walks over five innings. He struck out six.

The Milwaukee right-hander entered this contest on a roll, pitching to a 2.45 ERA across 22 innings in his last four starts. However, Peralta wound up allowing double-digit hits for the second time this season as the Nationals cracked four extra-base hits -- three doubles and one homer. The 28-year-old finishes the first half with a 4.11 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 130:36 K:BB over 103 innings. He should line up to make his next start in the Brewers' first series after the All-Star break at Minnesota.

  • Brewers' Freddy Peralta: Lasts four innings in no-decision

Peralta did not factor into the decision in a loss to the Dodgers on Saturday, allowing three runs on four hits and three walks over four innings while striking out four.

All three runs against Peralta came in the opening frame when he surrendered a two-run shot to Will Smith and failed to retire any of the first four batters he faced. The right-hander held the Dodgers scoreless over the next three innings but did not return for the fifth after reaching 104 pitches. Peralta had gone at least five innings four straight outings coming in, though he's now issued multiple walks in each of his last four. On the bright side, he also induced 21 whiffs on the night despite posting just four strikeouts.

  • Brewers' Freddy Peralta: Notches eight strikeouts in win

Peralta (6-4) picked up the win Sunday against the Cubs, allowing one earned run on two hits and two walks while striking out eight over seven innings.

Peralta yielded a solo home run to Nico Hoerner in the opening frame, but the 28-year-old was locked in afterwards, yielding just one other hit to notch his seventh quality start of the season. The right-hander has shown an impressive ability to miss bats, registering an 11.6 K/9 that ranks in the 95th percentile. Despite the lofty strikeout totals, Peralta has been mildly disappointing this season, logging a pedestrian 3.83 ERA and 1.13 WHIP across 94 innings. He will look to keep rolling in his next start, currently scheduled for next weekend against the Dodgers.
