Padres' Carlos D. Rodriguez: Invited to Padres' camp
Rodriguez signed a minor-league contract with the Padres on Friday that includes an invitation to spring training, Britt Ghiroli of The Athletic reports.
Rodriguez spent most of 2025 with Atlanta's Triple-A affiliate, where he slashed .247/.320/.323 with eight homers, 33 RBI, 53 runs scored and 17 steals across 531 plate appearances. The 24-year-old outfielder has yet to make his MLB debut and will likely begin 2026 at Triple-A El Paso.

Braves' Carlos D. Rodriguez: Outrighted to Triple-A
Atlanta outrighted Rodriguez to Triple-A Gwinnett on Thursday.
Rodriguez spent the entirety of the 2025 season on Atlanta's 40-man roster, but he never made it to the big leagues, hitting .247/.317/.323 with eight homers and 17 steals in 128 games during his time with Gwinnett. The 24-year-old will remain in the organization as outfield depth.

Braves' Carlos D. Rodriguez: Optioned to Gwinnett
Atlanta optioned Rodriguez to Triple-A Gwinnett on Friday.
Rodriguez was able to secure a major-league contract from Atlanta during the offseason despite having just 31 games of Triple-A experience from his time in the Brewers organization. Unsurprisingly, he'll head back to the minors to begin the 2025 campaign, though the 24-year-old could crack the majors if Atlanta runs into depth problems with its big-league outfield.

Braves' Carlos D. Rodriguez: Signs MLB deal with Atlanta
Atlanta signed Rodriguez to a one-year contract Friday.
Rodriguez had been a minor-league free agent but will get a spot on Atlanta's 40-man roster, although his salary is not guaranteed. Slated to turn 24 next month, Rodriguez slashed .284/.368/.374 with four home runs and 17 stolen bases between Double-A Biloxi and Triple-A Nashville in the Brewers organization in 2024. He can handle all three outfield spots and will compete for a reserve role.

Brewers' Carlos D. Rodriguez: Producing for Biloxi
Rodriguez has posted a .301/.384/.362 slash line through 229 at-bats for Double-A Biloxi this season.
Given that Rodriguez is 23 years old, isn't a top prospect, and has yet to homer this season or more than three times in any of his minor-league campaigns, it seems like a stretch that he'd have any meaningful time with the Brewers this season, plus the major-league squad already has a crowded outfield to boot. However, Rodriguez does hold a .294 average over six minor-league seasons, so he could get a look at some point, or perhaps be included as a minor trade chip should the Brewers hit the gas pedal on a playoff push and require more experienced talent.

Brewers' Carlos Rodriguez: Joins player pool
Rodriguez was added to the Brewers' 60-man player pool Friday.
The 19-year-old outfielder has yet to advance beyond rookie ball, so he almost certainly won't be considered for a big-league callup. Joining the player pool will give him the opportunity to be in the best possible spot for his development over the final few weeks of the season as he works out at the team's alternate training site, however.
