Nationals' J.C. Gutierrez: Signs minor league deal with Nationals
Gutierrez signed a minor league contract with the Nationals on Sunday, William Ladson of MLB.com reports.
The 32-year-old right-hander has not appeared in a major league game since 2014 when he was a member of the Giants. He owns a career 4.49 ERA and 1.359 WHIP over 264 total appearances. Gutierrez figures to slot into a bullpen role with one of the Nationals' minor league affiliates as his contract does not include an invite to major league spring training.
