The Pacers didn't re-sign Anderson (COVID-19 health and safety protocols) to a second 10-day contract after his initial deal expired Tuesday, Keith Smith of Spotrac.com reports.
Indiana still has an opening on the 15-man roster for another player, but that spot is expected to go to Lance Stephenson, who is likely to re-signed for the rest of the season after his 10-day deal expired Tuesday. Anderson, meanwhile, entered the protocols Friday and will likely report to the G League's Fort Wayne Mad Ants once he's asymptomatic of the virus. Anderson agreed to a contract Sunday with the Cavaliers, joining the organization on a 10-day hardship exemption, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
Cleveland will add Anderson and center Luke Kornet from the G League ranks on exemptions with seven players on the roster in the NBA's COVID-19 health and safety protocols and another (Collin Sexton) out for the season with a knee injury. A 2015 first-round pick of the Mavericks, Anderson last appeared in the NBA with the Nets during the 2019-20 season.
